Dirty and run down. I found a long black hair in the bed. The tub looks filthy. Half of the room lamps don’t work. I called the front desk but no one answered.

Had wifi until we entered our room then it disappeared. Switched rooms and all was good with Wifi! Came back to hotel room around 11 pm went to turn on the TV and didn’t work, They gave us new remote box and tried to fix it with another power bar and still nothing, so now no Tv. Good thing we had our iPads to watch a movie!

We were staying in town with our dog who we’ve never travelled with before. The laminate flooring in the “pet friendly” room was probably a good idea for a pet friendly room but it was disgusting! We paid $20/night extra for this room. I dropped my key under the bed and couldn’t believe how gross it was. Not only was it full of pet hair there were empty water bottles, a balloon, candy wrappers and just filth. The walls were all damaged and had drywall smeared on. The remote did t work for the TV and had electrical tape on it. The water never got hot for a shower. We stayed the first night because we had no other options and intended on finding something else the next. Unfortunately, there was no other available pet friendly rooms there or at any other hotels so after the event we had to attend was over (10:30pm) we packed up and drove home 5 hours through the freezing rain through the night. Be warned! I spoke to the young lady at the desk and made her aware we wouldn’t be staying. I wasn’t looking for a refund. She was very kind and remarked that she had had complaints. I also mentioned my experience to at least 5 other people at the event we were at in Owen Sound and they all said that this hotel is known to be a dump.

The price was right here but there were lots of details that were missing. There was hair and dust on the floor in the bathroom, no remote for the tv, no stir stick for the coffee and only enough to make one coffee, the cream had gone bad in the breakfast room and guests had to ask repeatedly for more coffee to be made. We would stay again because the bed was comfy and you could smell the clean sheets in the room when you walked in the room. And the price is good. But better attention to detail would really go a long way.

Unnecessary credit card fraud risk! Overall the hotel was fine; the room was clean, heater functioned, water sufficiently warm, breakfast was good with a waffle and fresh fruit. My concern was the check in process, where the desk clerk took my credit card and photocopied it. I asked why she did this, and was told they need a copy of my credit card to cover any damages or incidentals. I replied that every other hotel I have stayed in worldwide would create a temporary billing to cover this, where I would maintain possession of my credit card, using the handheld terminal to approve the temporary charge, which would be canceled upon check out. It’s 2024, in this digital age, there is no need to photocopy your guests’ credit cards. And now, I worry that the staff, their associates, or anyone going through the hotel’s garbage has my credit card info for making fraudulent purchases online. I will be writing to Travelodge head office to ask that none of their locations either take possession nor photocopy any guest’s credit card.

Was booked for 5 nights at this hotel, chose to relocate to a different hotel (knowing I prepaid a non refundable rate). The staff did not seem to care about the uncleanliness of their hotel admitting they do not wash the duvet covers regularity….cobwebs, brown drips, spills and toothpaste on walls, smeared wipe marks on microwave, build up of dust, and dirt on carpet along the walls where the vacuum couldn’t reach. The morning breakfast was minimal ( in comparison to the hotel I relocated to). Other more minor inconveniences, sour coffee creamers and a malfunctioning refrigerator (froze everything inside, even at low temp setting). We also had concerns about our vehicle with sketchy people lingering in the parking lot. This hotel should not be comparable in price to the other name brand hotels in OS. The other hotel I relocated to (Comfort Inn) was meticulous, and had an amazing front desk staff!

Two Areas for Improvement
Two areas of improvement I would suggest: The free Wi-Fi was poor. We ended up going to the office which was about the only place we could get a connection. Room temperature was inconsistent. It would be nice if you could set a wall thermostat instead of twiddling fan and temperature knobs.

The hotel felt run down and poorly maintained. Specifically the dirt inside the room - under the bed, armchair, etc. Any surface that isn't directly visible appeared to not have been cleaned in weeks or months. Room service did not clean the room every day and made the bed only a couple of times during the 3 week stay. The room was cold even with the heat blasting at max, which also dried the air severely. The room door security latch was missing, there was black mold under the AC unit and peeling wallpaper, the smoke detector was missing from the wall (albeit there appeared to be an ancient, yellow one on the ceiling, definitely not from this decade), the bathmat was ripped and there were old, what appeared to be, blood stains on the sheets. The breakfast was technically included, but I saw coffee cups left near the thermos with curdled milk in them and the bananas were a good gauge of how infrequently they were replaced. The bathroom water was usually lukewarm and below body temperature, so taking a bath was out of the question. The water control knob in the shower was detached and caution had to be taken to not have it fall off. The staff that I met was friendly enough, no complains on their personal skills. The pillows smelled slightly of cigarette smoke, which was mildly irritating being a non-smoker. Overall, for approximately $100/night I did not expect top-of-the-line stay, but this fell short even of my modest expectations. I will avoid this hotel in the future

Not clean at all. Pink mold in shower. Food crumbs on bathroom counter. Wrapper clogging sink drain. Sticky remotes. Overall worn and rundown. Breakfast poor to average. There is a Comfort Inn across the road that allows pets. Would try there next time I'm in Owen Sound. Plus side. Big TV. Staff were nice. Got a pet friendly room. Didn’t see anything about extra fees when I booked. Was charged $20 extra per night per dog.

Be sure to check travel stay dates when booking for any trip, Especially, with non refundable rooms. It was a real challenge with hotels.com and Property to correct issue. Hotels.com itinerary number is Way too long when inputting into cellphone keypad when trying to correct an issue(write it down, but you'd be SOL if you were without pen and paper). Travelodge Front desk was very hard to get a hold of. This property only has 3 per friendly rooms, Website does not indicate that. Otherwise, good location, comfy beds, quick grain (w/hard boiled eggs) breakfast. Lesson learned before reserving room, find property number Always call property if you have specific requests, triple check reservation dates before reserving room online.
