Bedsheets were dirty. Looked like they had been washed but blood staining remained. Cleaners clearly didn’t notice/care. There were also what looked like stains on the chair in the room. Cups for breakfast all had bits of dirt in. Seemed like they weren’t cleaning out the filters in the dishwashers. The hotel itself was a a beautiful old front, with a maze of corridors leading to extension(s) where most of the rooms were. Outside our room was the noise of honking geese and was super hot with no way of adjusting this.

We booked a 2 night stay in one of the family rooms. For what the hotel offered it was exceptionally good value. We barely found any other hotels around with decent rooms for the same price, nevermind one with a swimming room and gym! The family room was great, although we did switch it to begin with. The rooms are in 2 sections and our first room had one of the kids beds in with the double bed, meaning if we'd stayed there with our 2 year old we wouldn't have been able to watch TV, make a brew or even talk! Probably not an issue with older kids who stay up later, but just something to be mindful of when booking with younger kids. That being said they staff switched out room with no hesitation and we did get one that had both kids beds together and the double separate. We arrived with bikes and the staff kindly allowed us to store them inside a locked room in the hotel which saved us the worry of leaving them on the car roof for the whole visit. Another nice touch. Breakfast was great, porridge, fruit, cereals, croissants, yogurts and a full cooked option too. Enough there to fill our kids up and save a few quid on lunch! Swimming was an added bonus, but just be mindful that kids can only swim 8am-10am (which is right through the breakfast time) or 2pm-6pm. This did take some careful planning on when to go without it interfering with the rest of our plans. However, we did manage to go twice in the 2 days. The later check out of 11am as standard was very helpful as well!

Nice hotel but room we were in could of done with a freshen up, few cob webs, childs dirty hand prints on wall, hair on 1 of the beds. No complementary bottles of water in room as youd normally get and also little tiles that had come off the bottle of the pool still in the pool..

bar prices for the same drink varied by £2, bar has no price list on show therefore can charge what they want

I'm sorry, all our menus have full drinks prices on them and our tills are itemised so maybe a different wine was served. Its unusual feedback and apologies for the confusion. Our cocktail bar also displays a tariff listing a selection of products and prices as required by Weights & Measures. Apologies

Stayed with partner and our dog. Grounds are still amazing and well kept. Staff friendly. We took our doggie so if you do intend to there are only a few rooms and must be pre-booked at £25/night. Lots of different areas to sit and chill or have a drink, play games, watch TV

The property was nice overall, on arriving the staff, just reeled off directions to the building, there wasnt any ,personal questions, how are you today etc. The room 103 had bathroom door problems,warping at the bottom, the room was also next to the lift,so as u can guess ,there was noise .

Lovely family stay
Plenty of parking, great facilities, beautiful fronted hotel. Corridors, stairs and Spa areas are a little dated but you can’t complain at these prices to have the use of the pool etc included in your stay. Breakfast buffet was amazing! Our room was lovely and it was great to have a separate kids room with 2 decent single beds.

Hand a great stay but only little issue was room we stayed in had a walkway outside that they used to ferry the old bottles and glasses from bar so woke up early due to the noise. Other than this excellent place to stay.

Overall enjoyed our stay at redworth hall for my wife's birthday. Room was really nice when we eventually found it .bathroom was exceptional,the bed was nice and big but a little too firm as were the pillows ,we prefer feather pillows. Tea and coffee making facilities good but a bit short on milk ,only 2 little pots.Nice big easy to use TV. It was a bit of a walk to the car parking but plenty spaces The pool was very nice as was the steam room and sauna and the jackoozy was good. Nice towels robes and. slippers. Dinner was very nice but could have been a bit hotter. Restaurant lacked ambience somehow ,maybe a bit of background music would help. Breakfast was very good indeed with a very wide choice of fare. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay but a bit far away at 135 miles ,maybe we will return . Overall very good hotel and facilities.

We stay here every christmas when visiting from London. The staff and facilities are always impeccable and every facet of the hotel is excellent with the exception of the water pressure for the family rooms on the top floor. Already looking forward to next years stay.

Great venue for a quiet retreat
A lovely place to stay, magical scenery and grounds and wonderful ambience. This is the 2nd time we have stayed over new year so well recommended. The food in the restaurant is wonderful the lonely slight issue is the drinks service is not of the same calibre as the food, but that’s easily resolved by ordering early.

Nothing to complain about at all. Property is grandiose and beautiful as are the grounds. The room was as photographed and described very comfortable bed. Good dining facilities and bar.

Hotel was excellent, only issue was that it was too hot, people actual had to keep their doors open, and you were unable to turn heating down

Staff lovely. Standard twin, warm room and satisfactory for a one night stop. Did not use Spa. Dined casually in the lounge, satisfactory. However it was very cold in the lounge. Radiators not working. People sat wearing coats.
