"Perfectly decent. Very good location about 10mins from the station. Clean. Bed was comfortable but I don’t think it was standard double, it felt quite small - ok as it was just me. Aircon was a bit annoying, randomly shutting down in the middle of the night both nights. Decent black out curtains but the aircon control is right by the bed and very bright. Staff were fine. "The surroundings and ambiance of the hotel were beautiful and the staff were always polite and attentive. The food was lovely and there was plenty of convenient parking. I was staying in a room in the old house on the island, which provided beautiful views and grand interiors. Could be a little noisy in the mornings with trolley's being wheeled over the cobbles."

"I have stayed here a few times and will keep coming back with friends and solo. The rooms, common areas and spa facilities are always spotless. The food (albeit more on the expensive side) is delicious and fresh. Room service is available or dine in restaurant options. Most rooms (if not all) come with a shower and bath, with The White Company toiletries for use during the stay. "Location is very convenient as it is in city center. The hotel is a bit old, but the cleanliness is good. The staff who check us in is very helpful and friendly. There is no complimentary bottled water, but there is kettle with instant coffee and tea. There is no option for twin bed, but the sofa can be pulled out to make the second bed. The hotel provided the additional bed sheet and blanket cover for us for free. "

"Very disappointing to arrive on site a 1845 and discover that there was no restaurant facilities and no bar available for a drink. The booking confirmation stated that both were open 11 till late, but it's actually 6pm when the restaurant closes. There is an expensive shop open to buy student type food, but we didnt fancy pot noodle when we were hoping to be dining in the restaurant. Very misleading information. "
