The accommodations are simple native style cottages, but they were clean and comfortable. The staff and the management were extremely helpful and accommodating. The manager, T, was wonderful, always providing helpful suggestions and helping to arrange transportation to local venues. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would love to go back.

We would stay again in a heartbeat
We loved our stay at Thongbay. Mr. T & all the staff always provided excellent service & were very helpful. Meals are delivered to your bungalow (or elsewhere if you choose) & the food is delicious. The breakfast was great. The shuttle to & from downtown is very convenient & runs on schedule. The grounds are lovely. The bungalows are spacious. The floorboards do creak some but that didn’t affect our enjoyment.

Dit is een stukje paradijs in Luang Prabang. Enkel positieve dingen over te zeggen. We werden met evenveel hartelijkheid ontvangen als uitgezwaaid. Wat een fijne en behulpzame service.

We really liked our stay at Thongbay Guesthouse which offers great value for money. The bungalows are nicely arranged in a beautiful, lush tropical garden and have everything you need. Breakfast is served on your own private balcony and guests can also have dinner, which is very decent. The staff and management are impeccably nice and helpful with every question their guest might have. The only downturn we experienced was the temple festival and a wedding nearby with extremely loud music / prayers / Chorals and or karaoke. That has cost us 2 nights of proper rest. Make sure to bring earplugs! Anyway: we fully recommend the place !

Amazing place
Thongbay is a very beautiful and cosy place in Luang Prabang. We enjoyed everything about it; the view from our terrasse, the garden, getting breakfast served on your own balcony and most of all the smiling service from everybody at the guest house. Please notice, that Thongbay is outside Luang Prabang city center. They do have shuttle service and it's easy to go back and forth, but if you prefer the convenience of staying in the center of town, You have to choose otherwise. Only one little downside; the beds were too hard for our taste. We didn't sleep that well.

Thongbay hôtel : un petit paradis
Notre séjour au Thongbay hôtel a été formidable. Tout était parfait malgré quelques incompréhensions sur les activités. Points posiitifs : accueil chaleureux, cadre superbe, petits déjeuners copieux sur la terrasse de la chambre 😃, piscine et services impeccables avec même des navettes pluviers fois par jour pour rejoindre le centre de Luang Prabang et managers toujours de bonne humeur. Point négatif : triste de partir...

Uitstekend hotel. Enorm vriendelijk en hulpvaardig personeel, charmante huisjes in een weelderig groene tuin. Uitgebreid ontbijt, fijn zwembad. Rustige locatie, al komt er dagelijks zo'n vijf keer een vliegtuig laag over van of naar het vliergveld. De gordijnen hadden wel wat meer verduisterd mogen zijn.

This property is made up of detached wooden bungalows with Verandahs. The staff are excellent and breakfast is served on your own verandah each morning. They have bicycles and motorcycles for hire if you want to explore the local area or you can relax by the pool. The staff could not do enough for you and I would highly recommend Thongbay to anyone visiting Luang Prabang. 10 out of 10!

近くからカラオケの騒音が聞こえて来て気になりましたが、寝る頃にピタッと静かになりました。市街地から少し離れていて近くにレストランが無い以外はとても素晴らしい施設でした。

Glorious tropical garden residences
Gloriously verdant. An oasis of nature with views across the river. The individual 'bubgalows' are well sized, with a verandah. A hearty and generous breakfast arrived to my table, at the appointed hour. This is a place for a writer on a mission. Perfectly appointed to stay focussed. There is a large pool too. And really convenient transportation regularly throughout the day to reach 'town' in 7 or 8 minutes.

This trip was very interesting and unique.Especially, the accommodation was a very special experience that I had never experienced before.The taste of the food was special, such as bringing a meal in the morning and mixing it with the sound of nature.It was so nice to be quiet. Since there are many forests and trees, it seems not a good experience for uninvited fist-sized cockroaches to sleep together in bed.

Friendly helpful staff
The manager Mr. Thy and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. He booked an all day tour for us that I recommend. The free shuttle to town was convenient. He helped us to buy train tickets to Vang Vieng. You have a choice for daily breakfast that was very nice. The night we arrived they had a Christmas party with free food and drinks for guests. Only downside to stay was water for the shower and was not very hot.

The staff were very hospitable and helpful especially Kai and her son DoDo. The manager, Thy, was well organized and informative. Although the location is excellent, it is not in the city proper.

Thongbay Guesthouse was a last minute choice, but it was an excellent one. Clean, comfortable, great view and breakfast and beautiful garden surroundings. Air conditioning & Wi-Fi strong. Quite a walk into town but the walk was good for us. Thongbay has scheduled shuttles into town and pickup times. Check with Mr. Thy and his stuff, and he will help and explain all you need to know about Luang Prabang. Very gracious and helpful. Nothing like breakfast on the balcony!

The bungalows are set in beautiful gardens with amazing views over the river. It is a little out of town but the hotel offers a free shuttle bus. Getting your breakfast delivered to your balcony every morning was a special touch. Loved this hotel, would stay again.

ルアンプラバンに再訪する機会があれば、またぜひ利用したいホテル
年末年始に2泊しました。大晦日のダウンタウンは大騒ぎだろうと思って郊外のこちらに移動しました。しかし、ホテルを経営しているラオス人ご家族がホテルの前の道でご近所の人たちを集めて年越しパーティを開き、私たちの部屋が会場に近かったのもあって騒音がものすごく、その夜は耳栓をして寝ました...。ただし、それを除けば、部屋やガーデンは手入れが大変行き届いており、とても快適に過ごせました。朝食の場所も部屋のバルコニーからナムカン川沿いのテラスに変更してもらい、おいしくいただきました。私たちは年末年始だったので依頼しませんでしたが、ホテルの前の道で托鉢にも参加させてもらえるようです。ダウンタウンまでシャトルバスが出ているのと、バイクも1日レンタルしたので、不便さは感じませんでした。

As you entered the beautiful garden, you are immediately taken into a very peaceful atmosphere. The warm welcome was a very good sign of the quality of the service we received during our entire stay. Our unit was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. Great breakfast was served on the balcony of our unit every morning. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. Very easy to walk from the Guesthouse to the old historic center of Luang Prabang (although transport service was always available by the hotel) to better understand why this city is considered a Unesco heritage city.

Die Bungalows befinden sich in einer hervorragend gepflegten Gartenanlage. Egal, ob Bungalow mit Gartenblick oder am Flussufer- alles sind in einem Topzustand. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und bemüht alle Wünsche der Gäste zu erfüllen. Man kann sich aussuchen wo man sein Frühstück serviert bekommen möchte. Der kostenfreie Shuttleservice klappt einwandfrei.

Stunning small resort on the riverfront. Great staff who are able to organise tours etc for you. A little way out from tge busy town centre, but there is frequent free transfers to the main street. Delicious breakfast served on your balcony. Highly recommend this resort.

Fabulous place to stay. Lovely, spacious wooden bungalows set in a beautiful garden with views of the Nam Khan River. Some bungalows have river views, but there’s a sheltered sitting area for other guests to enjoy the view. Breakfast was amazing and served to you on the bungalow verandah. The guesthouse is about 20-30 mins walk from the old city, but the guesthouse runs a free shuttle there and back several times a day. Staff welcoming, helpful and friendly. Great pool. We’ve had a three-week trip travelling in Laos and Northern Thailand and this is easily the best place we’ve stayed. Very reasonably priced too. Just perfect.

Un séjour de rêve à Luang Prabang.
Nous sommes restés six nuits. Très bel hotel, un peu en retrait du centre ville juste ce qu'il faut. 20 min a pied, et 5 min en vélo qu'ils prêtent gratuitement. Ils font même des navettes plusieurs fois par jours. Le service est haut de gamme.Personnel toujours disponible, souriant et plein de bons conseils. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux et très bon. Les chambres qu'elles soient vue jardin (très jolis en passant) ou vue rivière sont agréables et confortables et spacieuses Nous avons pu tester les deux, car ayant peu de monde, ils nous ont proposé celle avec vue rivière dès le lendemain.
