I like historic motels so take that into consideration. This place is a historic motel with upgrades but still has some quirks. Modern conveniences with some nostalgia.
Very unique hotel from 1904. Very comfortable bed. I was a little disappointed in the room/bathroom. All of the pictures for the elite queen room show a claw foot tub. The bathroom in our room just had an ordinary tub/shower. I was looking forward to taking a relaxing bath but was disappointed to find that it did not have a tub like the ones shown in every picture for that room type.
The Murray Hotel is a historic landmark in Livingston, and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. It was like taking a trip back in time, while still enjoying all of the modern conveniences to which we've all become accustomed. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the accommodations were elegant and comfortable. We will be back!
The Murray Hotel is simply stunning & welcoming! Items in the rooms produce a cohesive theme of the old west or of days of a Victorian era. I honestly feel swept away to a time long ago! It's such a nice way to regenerate my mindset!
This is such a beautiful and unique old hotel. It's an intriguing mixture of remodeling and antiquity. There are a ton of shops, and restaurants nearby. I absolutely love this hotel.
This was the BEST hotel by far that we have enjoyed, from the minute you walk in and meet Vicky to when you leave and say goodbye friend! Even when you don't ever want to leave !
This is a wonderful old-world type hotel, a genuine step back in time to an era when hotels didn’t contain 102 rooms that all looked alike. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful - I loved it here, and would definitely come back.
The Murray was the highlight of our stay. Livingston is a great town. Welcoming and friendly. The history and accommodations at The Murray were perfect. The experience is very unique and well worth it.
The photos throughout the building are themed on different floors. Very cool. We stayed in the retro room and it was outstanding!
We arrived a bit later than expected because of a delayed flight. The night manager seemed snarky in his responses which made me question if I should stay. The room size was really nice and the beds were very comfortable. The morning desk clerk was really informative and had a lot of history on the hotel.
Wish someone would have told us about the train whistle blowing throughout the night ...seemed like every two hours. Guess we should have picked up the hint with ear plugs on the night stand by the bed. Very poor sleep, otherwise great service etc.

Sorry to not inform you about the trains. Livingston has always been a train town we tend to forget this simple fact.
