I almost never write reviews for places we stay, but this place is great. Lots of small details. Very comfortable. Definitely the nicest place to stay in the area.

Awesome Cabin
Our cabin was extremely clean and really nice. This is our 3rd stay in that cabin. We stayed there in August 2022, December 2022 and this time in December 2023. We have family that we visit there in indiana. I would highly recommend staying there.

Love that it is located so close to the marshes where the Sandhill Cranes, snow Geese and other waterfowl migrate. The welcoming text from the manager made for a veriy easy check-in and check-out. The best expereience was sitting on the porch with coffee at dawn and hearing thousands of waterfowl singing their morning wake-up songs.

Long weekend with friends

We loved everything about our little Scout Cabin! it was perfect, would have liked to enjoy a fire in the fire pit but friends were in the Quail cabin so we spent most of time there when we were not on the trails jeeping. We will stay always there always.

scout cabin
this cabin was so nice. private and clean. the people running it were very nice. they even have a beautiful inn you can stay in if your not much for camping. we stayed in the scout cabin and it was even nicer than I had expected. I didn't want to leave. I would highly recommend this place !!!

Intimate and private settings...
This place was very cozy and pictures didn't do it justice. We stayed at the Scout cabin. It was perfect for us! Very intimate and I loved the way it was built and looked inside. Very clean and private. Had a grill and fire pit, perfect for our stay. Beats a hotel any day of the week!

Lovely cottage with amenities
Quail Run Cottage was all I hoped for and then some. We were able to relax and enjoy family time making s’mores on the fire pit and the views are amazing. We will definitely return!

More than expected
Loved the Scout Cabin. The pictures do not do it justice. It was such a pleasant surprise to walk in to a cute little cabin with a fireplace, and a very comfortable bed. Clean and all the things you would need were provided. Even a little stocked fridge with sodas, water and chips with a honor jar. We were so pleased with our stay. We were there while the Christmas light display was going on and it was so beautiful to sit out on the porch, look up at the stars and look across to the light display. We will come back for sure!

Clean pleasant cabin for weekend stay
The cabin was small but extremely clean. We were very pleased with our stay. It was a cold weekend. We would probably pick a more warm weekend next time but would definitely stay at this location again. There was just two of us.

A great getaway place but....
The Good News is that the Scout Cottage is comfortable and immaculately clean. Really nice touches like the electric fireplace and wonderful private country setting make it a great place to get away. The buts that should be considered are, parking is over a hundred yards from the cabin down a gravel path and across a grass lawn. A wagon was provided to help move your luggage, but it means pulling a wagon over gravel and a soft lawn. The second thing that took a little getting used to was the Incinolet rather than a conventional toilet. The incinolet is a dry device that requires placing a bag in the "bowl" prior to each use. There was no contact at all with any staff. You get a code to let yourself into the cabin and there is no maid service during stay. I still have no idea what or where the full breakfast mentioned in the reservation was. I thought overall the place was great and a high value and I would definitely consider returning.

The cabin was in a nice quiet spot. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing and enjoying the view. The cabin was clean. However, there was a huge ceiling fan that was running in the sitting area. When sitting on the couch I felt like I was in a wind tunnel and no matter where we looked we couldn't find a switch to turn it off or to turn it down. I left with a scratchy throat because of being blown on by the wind from the fan. Also, the hotel information on hotels.com said that breakfast was included. Breakfast consisted of sausage biscuits that could be warmed up and residents were expected to leave money in a jar for breakfast. More of a variety for breakfast would be nice-- frozen pancakes/waffles- especially if we are expected to pay for it. It was a nice quiet little get-away but there are little food options at the cabin for someone wanting to get there and not have to leave for meals.

The cabin was great but on hotels.com it was listed as having a queen bed. Upon arrival my husband and I discovered it contained only a twin bunk bed. This was not what we were looking forward to. Needless to say we cut on stay here short but both hotels.com and the folks at pleasant grove farms were very understanding of our situation and customer service from both parties was great.

Secret Hideaway
I want to keep this little secret to myself but I know I must share!! It was so relaxing! Everything was perfect! I do not know the story about why this cottage was built but it certainly made me feel like it was built to make people feel spoiled at home. I plan to spend many more occasions here, some with kids, some with just the husband, some with just some friends, and maybe some just by myself. Plan to fish, play table games, read, relax, look for birds, an old dog, deer, and other wild life.

Staying at the Goose Pond Cottage
We were so excited to stay at the Cottage, When we open the door the word to describe would be WOW, it was so beautiful I couldn't believe my eyes, We couldn't believe there were a few groceries and other condements in the cabinets and frig .It was a cozy place to get away

An outstanding surprise
Just outside the Goose Pond wildlife area, this wonderful cottage had everything we wanted. A full kitchen, everything very clean, no neighbors, very thoughtful amenities. I didn't even miss the lack of ESPN on the TV. This is a ideal place to get away from it all and enjoy yourself in comfort. Sleeps four, but is perfect for a couple that wants to remember why they are a couple.

WOW! Awesome getaway.
Even tho' it's out of the way, it's well worth the stay! Beautiful little cottage with pond out the front door. Private - no other cabin is near it. They supplied fishing gear (free), snack foods, drinks, and frozen breakfast items for a small price put into an "Honor Jar" in the fridge. We used the two twin beds in the loft, and there is a full bed downstairs. Small but definitely as big a a hotel room. The only complaint we had is that the heat of the water in the lovely shower was almost impossible to regulate - we either froze or got scalded - they have one of those small water heaters that supposedly heats as it's used. All round awesome stay, tho'. Thanks to the friendly owners!
