We stayed at the Travis cottage after a race we ran in rocksprings. We like wine so Fredericksburg was an ideal location to stay. Everything is within walking distance from Travis cottage but you are removed enough from the main drag that you can’t hear all the drunks (it was spring break when we were there this time) but you will hear the constant sirens (again, spring break). The cottage itself was clean, easy to access, had a large comfortable bed and was as described. We booked this place for the jacuzzi tub. We did not know that there was no shower. So, you either must like to take a bath or you have to stand and shower, which risks getting water splashed all over (and it did). We ran a long trail race so we wanted to shower - but oh well. As for the jacuzzi tub; it runs out of hot water early and you have to fill it the rest of the way with cold water but then it’s just kind of a tepid bubbly tub. It was ok, not very relaxing. We wanted to contact the owners/host but could not find a way to do so. When we are back in the area we would probably look for a different place mainly because we like hot tubs. Oh also there was an empty wine bottle left in the armoire, so I’m assuming housekeeping never even touched anything in there after the previous guests left. It’s full of spare linens btw so one could assume they were not cleaned. Left us feeling insecure about the actual cleanliness of the place.
