The property is in a good location however the bathroom was disappointing. The power point for the hot water system was hanging out of the wall with the wires exposed in the shower cubicle, this system did not heat the water up either even after being on for 2 hours. The shower head was damaged so that the water came out of the pipe and not the shower head. Staff seemed uninterested whenever approached and often not helpful.

Hotellet ligger väldigt bra till MEN saknar hiss, vilket kan vara bra att veta om man har svårt att gå eller har tunga väskor. Frukost på takterrassen var mysigt. Vi hade ett trångt rum så det var svårt att ta sig i och ur sängen. AC mycket bra men lät en del.

Central hotel in Stone Town, Zanzibar

Nice hotel in the middle of Stone Town. Very nice staff helping us to get comfortable in our first trip to Zanzibar.

The room was just fine, it was very small and the light in the bathroom didn't work. However, everything else worked and the room was clean with cute decorations when I got there. The check in process was slow and confusing, people did not seem to know what to do with me. However, I eventually got in. Breakfast is on a beautiful rooftop patio overlooking all sides of stonetown with very nice people cooking you custom ordered food (from a few options for the day). They also have hot milk and hot water with tea and coffee available. The decorations were a bit eclectic, which was kind of fun. The location is right on a main walking street and there is a tourist shop in the lobby.

Heart of town

Room was great. Did not end up with a shared bathroom. Had hot water heater and large attached restroom. Air conditioner was very cold. Staff was friendly and even helped with laundry for a fee. Location right downtown and building was one of the tallest in town which makes for excellent view from the rooftop for breakfast. Breakfast was also quite nice.

Great location. Nice breakfast at rooftop terrace with view of ocean. Very airy and nicely decorated. Short walk to small beach on ocean. I highly recommend.

Cheap, cheerful and clean

Maybe not cheap if you are a backpacker but it certainly is compared to one of the business hotels I had to stay in in Dar both before and after my visit to Zanzibar. Being in Stone Town, the location is fantastic (if you ignore the touts on the street). The hotel has a run down feel (like much of Stone Town) but once I got to my room I found all the basics (aircon, ceiliing fan,TV, fridge, hot water shower) and a high degree of cleanliness (higher than I was expecting). There was even a guy who came round the rooms in the evening to give them a spray against mosquitos (which weren't a problem). Rooftop restaurant only serves breakfast but there are plenty of nearby restaurants serving some excellent food. Overall, highly recommended
