The smell and its effects ruined the visit

The hotel's appearance and location are second to none. A beautiful quiet harbour right on the seafront. However therein lies the problem. We stayed when the seaweed was honking its stench right across the miles of coastline on either side of the village, and right into our room. The room itself was part of the problem. No air con, in the circumstances above, meant that the windows had to be kept shut (the smell was rotten eggs and sewage) and it was HOT. A small fan was provided, but in a tiny 'twin' room that was the size of a small university dorm room from the 1980s, two beds, two tables, a tiny en-suite and a bench were squeezed together, and the whole experience was dispiriting and uncomfortable. The staff and hotel can't help the smell, but apparently it's a bit of a problem in the area, happening all too regularly, and whilst the design and styling of the hotel is perfect and redolent of the area in every way, there needs to be some investment in A/C to enable windows to be comfortably shut, and in plumbing to sort out the bathroom smells emanating from below into the en-suite. I'd have loved this place to have been fantastic as it's really beautiful, and the staff (all very young and keen to help with anything) were great. But the owners need to do some work on the infrastructure, and invest - apparently that seaweed is going nowhere fast, and warm, onshore windy days aren't uncommon in that part of the world. We were told the smell is worse in winter.

Bongska Huset er et sted hvor det “oser” af hygge og hjemligt. Udsigten fra vĂŠrelserne ud mod havnen og vandet er helt fantastisk. Maden var total lĂŠkker og stedet er rent og pĂŠnt uden det er et sted man fĂžler man ikke mĂ„ vĂŠre. Det maritime miljĂž og hele oplevelsen af at det er een stor familie der kĂžrer stedet, gĂžr det som et sted vi meget gerne vil komme igen. Duften fra bageriet gjorde det sidste til at opholdet blev hĂŠvet til en oplevelse som man bare ikke kan fĂ„ alle steder, da det ikke er noget der kan skabes kunstigt. Den hjemlige og varme nĂŠrvĂŠrende oplevelse stedet kan tilbyde er unikt. Vi var pĂ„ en familietur med 6 personer og hvor vi har overnattet pĂ„ 6 fantastiske lĂŠkre hoteller; men Bongska Huset lĂžber med titlen som vores favoritsted og hvor vi ALLE 6 vil tilbage til igen en gang og gerne med mere end en nats overnatning. TAK for oplevelsen til de unge mennesker og til de hyggelige omgivelser.

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, die Lage direkt am Hafen ist perfekt und die Kombination mit der BĂ€ckerei ist einzigartig. Wir haben dort vier sehr schöne Tage mit unserem Hund verbracht. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit. Wenn das Hotel nicht so weit weg wĂ€re wĂŒrden wir gern öfter hinfahren.

En dejlig oplevelse. 3 nÊtter i et dejlig vÊrelse hvor man falder i sÞvn til lyden af bÞlger der ruller ind fra ØstersÞen. Det eneste minus var, at sengen var for blod for os. BadevÊrelset var fint og rent, loft lyset virkede ikke men der var rigeligt med lys fra vÊglampen. PÄ vÊrelset var der badekÄbe hvis man havde de lyster at tage sig en dukkert i ØstersÞen, men den ene var ikke ren. Service pÄ kroen var fantastisk. Smilede og imÞdekommende personale. Vi udnyttede muligheden for, at fÄ vasket tÞj som blev gjort pÄ hoved hotellet nogle kilometer derfra. En fantastisk service. Maden pÄ kroen var ogsÄ i top. Et stort udvalg til morgenbuffeten med hjemmelavet brÞd og boller, 2 slags kaffe med angivelse af oprindelsesland, flere slags te, juice, shots og smoothies. Restaurantens menukort var meget varieret med bÄde fisk og muslinger samt schnitzel og bÞf. BÄde vin og Þl var af udsÞgt mÊrker. SÄ alt i alt, man fÄr hvad man betaler for og kan varmt anbefales.
