"Great location, attentive,responsive staff. There are many local eateries, public houses etc. Even with this the hotel is situated in a quiet area. The breakfast is very good and covers a wide range of tastes. The only point I did not like was that only scrambled eggs were available. We did not use the bar to drink as we were out and about a lot, however it did make ice available when required. "

"The hotel is ideally placed for the centre of York on the south side of the River Ouse. The room was very clean and looked over the river and the night life on the other bank. Restaurant food was great. Staff were very helpful and loaned us a wheelchair for the weekend. The downside is that their car park was full when we arrived, which at £20 a night was steep, but the nearby NCP car park charged £80 for two nights :-((."

"It was amazing, the Grand has really friendly and helpful staff from the minute you check in to when you are leaving the hotel. The room service was great with polite people delivering the food and the meals were delicious. They do breakfast in bed service which is so convenient and a real treat. The rooms are spacious with separate wash and bathrooms. Huge comfy bed. Top tier experience."
