Spotlessly clean. Lovely comfy bed, everything we needed. Tea/coffee, breakfast items, fruit all provided. Owner sent detailed info before hand about parking and access and a lovely info pack in the room about attractions to visit, recommendations for places to eat and best places for a night out.

Friendly and charming

Small, only 3 rooms, but really cosy! Well maintained and breakfast/welcome basket a delight, as was the fridge and microwave. The location was perfect and an easy stroll into town. The welcome blurb from the owner was accurate and showed an intimate knowledge of the area...definitely recommend it!

Lovely little guest house, with big en suite bathroom with a towel warmer (very useful in the cold weather) and bathrobes provided. Self check in so only met the owner briefly who was nice. Approx 8m mins walk to bus stop at the end of the road which takes you into centre of town or from train station. Both only a handful of stops away, so doesn't take long. Just note buses times, as they don't run late at night or very often outside peak times. Lots of extras included such as free snacks and fruit in the room, and extra cozy blankets. Provided a list of areas and places to eat as suggestions which were handy too.

Great location, easy to get to York centre and the road was quiet slept well both. Room 1 was great, en-suite, welcome goodies (fruit, pastries) mini fridge with water, yogurt and juice. Slippers, bathrobes, facilities to make tea/coffee and warm food. Will definitely stay again.

I stayed at this guest house at the parent of an international student at the Uni of York. It is very close to campus West (5 mins in an Uber or 15 mins walk). There is a sainsburys local at the end of the street and a great little cafe. The owner Ashley greeted me upon arrival and gave me the info about the house. He was very nice and friendly. I had room 2. A nicely laid out double with a very nice, modern en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has a tv, mini fridge and microwave, kettle, cups, plates etc. An iron, ironing board and a hairdryer. There was complimentary fruit, water, juice, breakfast goods (croissant, pain au chocolat, milk, tea and coffee and jam) - all welcome after a long flight. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows, with extra blankets if needed. The room was warm and extremely quiet which was lovely. I slept SO well there! There are amenities in the bathroom - shower gel, soap, conditioner. There is even a fridge downstairs in the hallway with mini bottles of wine, beer and snacks which you can purchase at a ver reasonable price. The guest house is located on a quiet residential street. I had no trouble getting to the Uni or the center of town in an Uber. There was also a bus stop at the end of the road (a 2 mins walk). All in all I would highly recommend this guest house. It was perfect for my needs. Thankyou Ashley!

Room not huge, but very well fitted out with everything you'd usually need for a short stay and the shower room/loo was lovely. Directions offered were spot on although for folks like us arriving at night, perhaps a extra sign on the outside gates would be helpful. Easy access to town whether walking or by bus and hotel parking was easy too. Recomended to anyone.

Great place to stay

Only have positive things to say. Excellent comunicstion from owners with clesr instructions. Room and en suite was spotlessly clean. Complimentary snacks available in roo lm and a very helpful things-to-do guide. Local area has good shops and places to eat. Nice and quiet neighbourhood, convenient place for both university and city.

Fantastic stay at the camaraderie guest house

Lovely guest house in a quiet area but still close to York city centre. The room was cosy with a comfortable bed. We had teas and coffees, both with decaf, a mini fridge with milks, water and butter, a selection of cakes and scones and a bowl of fruit. Alex also left a book of useful information and places to visit in York. We also requested an early check in and to leave our car at the guest house on our last day past our check out time which Alex kindly agreed. In short we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Alex was extremely friendly and accommodating. We would definitely go back and recommend Camaraderie guest house to others.

What a hidden gem. Great place to base yourself and immerse in York’s rich history. The guest house is a short, easy 15-min walk into the city centre, even in rain it didn’t feel that far. Flat, no hills! The room was clean, cosy, well-appointed, including a small fridge, bowl of fruit and breakfast snacks. The ensuite was spacious with shower over the bath. Happily recommend.

Lovely few days aways to.coinside.with york university open day . About a 20 min walk to The Shambles. 15 min walk to the uni . 3 car park spaces for each of the rooms . If my daughter does go to York university i will deff be returning .

excellent location for walking to town as well as the university unfortunately there was a terrible odor in out room that persisted for the duration of the stay somewhere between mildew and sewage the proprietor could not smell it and despite the many different odor enhancements in the room - it was pervasive and my belongings picked up the smell - the proprietor reported no one has said this before and it may have been outside - but i could not appreciate that - it was only within iur room- also - there is no soundproofing- so you will hear every other guest entering/departing/etc that being said - it is in a very quiet part of town and quick walk through green space to the university as well as inexpensive, there is safe on street parking, and I will like book again when i visit family attending the college

Friendly, clean & accommodating!

I stayed at the Camaraderie Guest House from Fri 6th - Sun 8th October 2023 as a solo traveller. I received an email and text message from the host prior to arrival, outlining details on the location, how to get there & where my keys could be found. The keys are kept in a lock system outside the main entrance, each designated to each guest room & with it's own code. This was extremely helpful to use when I was out in York & I didn't have to worry about where to store or keep hold of the door key! The property is situated on Kilburn Road, and is about a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre. The room was spacious, clean and renovated to a high standard. The room had it's own on-suite, and complimentary toiletries were supplied. Although there was no breakfast service, complimentary offerings were supplied in the room such as fresh fruit, breakfast goods such as croissants, tea & coffee, yoghurts and water. The room was situated on the second floor at the rear of the house, however, Kilburn Road is residential, so it had a quiet, welcoming, suburban feel. Car parking is situated to the side of the property on the corner of Kilburn Road & Edgeware Road. There is enough parking for 3 vehicles. Overall, I am extremely happy with my stay, and I would recommend it to friends and family. If I return to the York area, I would once again stay at the Camaraderie Guest House.

Eerder kleine kamer, smal bed voor twee personen, ruime badkamer en goede douche. Handdoeken roken niet zo lekker maar waren wel schoon.
