"A classic railway hotel. I had an amazing view of York Minster from my room. Excellent pool & leisure suite. Very good breakfasts.The lifts were broken, which was a problem for the less mobile."

"Ideally located for access to city amenities within walking distance. However, on-site parking is extremely limited with even less recognisable parking that can be easily accessed. Alternative parking at MonkBar is a viable alternative and is a 5 minute walk away. Do check on the Council website for details on parking prices and which App to use as this information is out of date on both the hotel and Expedia information."

"I like this hotel, and have now used it twice when I come to see my son at the university. Rooms have a classically English feel, and tastefully decorated. Very quiet. The bedroom window view wasn't brilliant (brick wall), but you could see a lot outside from the bathroom window. There was an issue with the bathroom toilet which had a very weak flush. Apart from that all amenities were perfect. Bathroom was huge. Staff are extremely nice. I'm sure that the toilet thing was a one-off, and I'll probably stay there again when I'm next in York."

"Very comfortable bed and pillows, spotlessly clean bathroom and a really good shower. Nice toileteries. Breakfast had plenty of choice ( apart from no fried eggs !) and was all cooked well and nicely presented. The staff were helpful and friendly. Will cerainly stay again next time we go to York."

"Breakfast was very good and I liked making my own waffle. Room was good. Little lift outside hotel for disabled and elderly was very difficult to figure out how to use. Had to carry heavy luggage up the steps. Ramp might be better. Location was good. Would recommend staying there."
