"Lovely place to stay, the hosts where very accomadating and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast each morning was great i'm a vegetarian and had plenty to choose from. Location was spot on easy access to Scarborough, filey, robin hoods bay and whitby among others. Very clean Thank you for a lovely stay."

I would also like to commend the night staff, who were exceptionally professional, understanding, and accommodating throughout our stay. However, our experience in Room 11 was deeply unsettling. During the night, my partner was abruptly woken and believed she had been physically touched, which caused her considerable distress. "Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!"

"Cottage was perfectly located and well equipped albeit small for the price. Bathroom great, cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. Couple of areas needed redecorating. But communication was non existent. Contacted host twice without reply on day of arrival to get the passcode for the keys. Also phone number was for Sykes cottages which was closed. Ended up knocking on doors nearby and finally got to the right person."

"We had a wonderful stay at the bike & boot. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We stayed with my elderly Mum & they were always kind & patient with her. We stayed in a large seaview room. The room & view were beautiful & everything was very clean. We loved the buffet breakfast. Great quality & plenty of choice. Touches like the water, coffee machine & biscuits in the lounge are great too. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thanks for a great stay."

"Friendly helpful reception staff. Hotel clean but very dated and old building so floors squeaky, walls paper thin and heard every door bang so disturbed sleep. Location, okay about 15 mins into town. Beds really comfortable. Shower wasnt very powerful. Okay for price. Loved the views from both windows!"

"I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...

"We stayed in room 225, it was allround good, but its in ergent need of some venterlation and air-con. Due to the windows not opening, there was a fan in room but of no use it just cerculated hot air around the room."
