This was a lovely boutique type hotel set in the country, where the staff were very welcoming and accommodating, the rooms were comfy and clean, and the food was excellent. I'd certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends

To start with was easy parking and when entering the hotel was greeted with lovely smiley staff. It was lovely and quiet and very chilled not to busy lobby. We was showed to our room and explained what was what. Was nice ,clean and simple. The area is very quiet so sleeping was lovely, the bed was very comfortable but personally I prefer harder pillows ( but just bring one if need be ) surrounding area was clean very spacious. Was overall a great stay and would def come again .

A gem of a place.

The pub and Inn were so lovely , clean and comfortable! The staff , particularly Sorin and Amy took care of us like family when we were stranded due to car problems. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, and the food is delicious . There are lovely walks and a beautiful medieval church nearby for exploring. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in the UK.

A very welcome haven after a busy day.

Very comfortable. Beautiful bedlinen. Clean bathroom with powerful shower and toiletries plentiful and smelt amazing. Room very well equipped including a phone charged, which was very necessary seeing as I had left mine behind.

Shepherds for the night

Loved it. A quiet night away with a difference, we stayed in the shepherds hut for the night. Lovely little cabin, fully equipped to make your night away special. From mini bar to log burner, everything is there to keep you warm, watered and nourished. The food in the pub is reassuringly expensive but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for! If you're looking for a night away with your loved one, don't hesitate.

I loved it

Loved this place. I pass thro the Cotswolds every few months to see my mum and usually try and stay a night on my way back. I’ve had some pretty hit n miss stays In other supposedly “boutique” venues - and had almost given up hope This stay has renewed my faith - beautifully furnished in a truly contemporary and quirky way - interesting mix of artworks - amazing food - friendly but not over bearing service So totally my style and taste and I will def make it my go to in future

Loved the venue and the staff amazing.Most of the evening meal wonderful but felt breakfast was a bit overpriced. No WiFi in bedrooms which website said there was. Don’t know the guys name but he had curly hair and couldn’t do enough for us.

Very friendly woman greeting us and served us our dinner. Room was clean but average in its decor and space provided. Hot strong shower, good meal. Didn’t sleep well because of late ( 12:30-1:00) arrival of guests and their car idling with lights on outside the window of our bedroom. Upstairs but facing some parking. Hotel hostess apologized though it really wasn’t her fault. Not really a place suited to late night check in.

Oxford Artist Residence is the perfect country getaway! We live in Oxford so even just the short drive felt like an escape and as soon as you step into the hotel and it’s outstanding pub restaurant you feel relaxed! Even in January where pubs and restaurants might seem quiet or lifeless this was not the case at AR. Obviously quieter than December but it had a warm ambience, lovely cosy evening atmosphere with delicious food served by friendly and helpful staff. A lovely mix of guests and local groups enjoying the pub added to the atmosphere! We were lucky to stay in their open barn room which was just fantastic - we enjoyed the space, sat in front of our own private wood burner and just felt like we were on a mini break immediately! It’s worth noting the breakfast was also in incredible with high quality produce and a great range of options. Great hotel for dogs and those that love a hike in the countryside - a perfect place to rest and explore the surround Cotswolds (wellies and bikes provided! Five star review from us and we’ll be back to enjoy their Sunday roast! Delicious! Thank you again to the staff for making our brief getaway perfect
