"From start to finish this was a cut above. I arrived early but was still able to access the car park and when staff heard I'd travelled a long way I was offered a reviving cup of coffee. The menu looked great (as did the beers on offer) but as I was attending an all day event I didn't get to try the Wykeham Pie. I did have breakfast which was excellent and extremely good value. My single room was comfortable, clean and perfect for a short stay. Staff were always on hand and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was welcoming, friendly and the memorabilia in the bars fascinating. As for the loo......a work of art. Without any hesitation I would come back and highly recommend. Hospitality at its best."

"Adequate hotel - conveniently located in the centre of Winchester. About 15 min walk from the train station. The bus station is about 5 min away. Lot of good restaurants around especially if you like Nepalese food.The hotel will store your luggage for you if you ask them to. The only thing I didn't like was the pattern on the carpet on the first floor corridor - almost like a route map for robot vacuum cleaners to follow."

"The breakfast was very good for buffet with cooked options. It’s well located for Winchester but not a hotel with charming views and paying for parking on top of room charges needs looking at. Why not make it inclusive ? A fridge in the room and capsule coffee maker would be more useful than a safe. "

"Our stay was for a couple of days to attend a Wedding in Winchester. St John’s Croft is ideally placed within 5 minutes easy walk of the town centre, with on site parking at the property. The property is a lovely grand farmhouse, in a very quiet raised spot, considering how close it is to everything. The property has a lovey, relaxed, arty/boho feel to it, with a warm atmosphere. Our room had a large double and single daybed, two very comfortable armchairs, coffee table, lots of side lamps and a TV. A good powerful shower in our private bathroom, with lots of hot water was most welcome. Dotty cooked us a marvellous breakfast around a large communal kitchen table by the AGA. I would more than happily stay here again. Thank you. "
