"Friendly helpful staff, clean room, good food, comfy bed"

"Our arrival was admittedly very late - 2.30am. TV in our room did not work at all. The 24 hr Receptionist could not communicate so unable to help about the TV. Breakfast was self service Toast/Strawberry Jam and Cereals. Staff hardly any spoke English.We had to leave very early so no experience of whether the Bar was open or not. Very poor quality hotel so will not ever stay there again."

"I booked to stay one night with a chance I might need a second night. Room was a separate wooden chalet. Door very difficult to open. Small bathroom with shower a bit difficult to access unless you have long legs. Mirror near toilet not easy to see. Glad I didn’t need to make up. Breakfast was a bag with croissant and porridge to mix yourself and an apple. Jam, butter orange juice also provided but juice not very nice and make your own coffee from Nescafé in room. "The Woodlands was a beautiful stay. I loved the surrounding wild life and peacefulness about it. Staff were wonderful and went out of their way to support me, being I am disabled and require a stick to walk. The bed was extremely comfortable, clean & fresh. Nice hot showers. Breakfast was excellent and catered to my tastes. Overall I would recommend the Woodlands if your looking for a stay that offers peaceful space, nature and a very warm welcome. "Magnificent grounds, the approach on driving towards the Hall is stunning. It's a beautiful historic building with a very pleasant bar with lovely outdoor seating overlooking the grounds open until 10pm. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing. "Very nice stay. Young man - sorry didn't get his name - behind bar who checked me in was excellent, so helpful and polite. Breakfast, however was disappointing. Had to book a specific time slot and when I arrived, having booked and paid the evening before, I was told that they didn't know that I had booked. Was then asked what I wanted to eat with no menu choices and took quite a while to make although only cereals and toast on offer. Dispite this I would stay again as lovely location,...

"The corridors smell of dirty carpets and our rooms aircon was not working. They didn't offer any compensation or change of rooms, just brought a fan. Otherwise just an average business hotel."

"Full cooked breakfast was available, parking was available with plenty of space. The room could have been cleaned better, especially around the window but the rest of the room and the bathroom were fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. I understand the property had new owners so they were probably still getting to know the property."

"Pros: Excellent location – Perfect if you want to avoid driving into Cambridge city centre.
