"A top traveller’s rest inn. Located in a quaint quiet village with some nice walks and scenery. Had a clean and spacious room with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Food and atmosphere in the adjoining pub was excellent as were all the staff there."

"Our first impressions was that when we book we see or I saw the pub picture and that building looks much better looked after as opposed to the rooms building.
Our room had 2 massive sticks stains on the carpet that made me uncomfortable to walk barefoot considering it was still hot weather when we got there.
The room serviced we asked it to be done more often as it was hot and sweaty yes the towels were changed but the bedding was not changed which was dissapointed about. The also had minor...

"Great location with bonus of Highland cattle right outside.
Lodges looked tired, especially the outside. Need a paint job, some weeding and a few flowers outside would make all the difference.
Beds comfy and lodge pretty well equipped.
Overall, a nice stay but could be better."

"The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. "Upgraded our room once the error in booking was realised.
Good breakfast and dining areas.
Clean and tidy.
We were the only family there I feel amongst the golfers, which was expected but felt welcome nonetheless.

"The staff were brilliant and very helpful with everything we asked for. However, whilst in the bar there was a long wait to be served and guests were having to locate the bar assistant from other parts of the hotel. It may be advantageous to instruct a staff member to be present permamntly, especially when busy.
