Beach paradise.

We stayed in unit 4 I believe, downstairs with a beautiful view of the ocean. Convenient parking to room, amazing that we could walk across the street and be on the beach for good seashell and sand dollar hunting. At high tide we went and sat on the stairs just to enjoy the ocean and full moon! The host was great and really attentive. Would stay again if/when we return to New Zealand.

We stayed in the Northernmost upper floor suite, and it was amazingly great! Probably the best accommodations in the area. The large balcony overlooks the beach (30-sec walk), and just sitting and watching the continuous broad waves over and over was mesmerizing. WiFi was good (better than many others in NZ), and the hosts, who live on-site, were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. We stayed for much of a week, and would return in a heartbeat!

The property is in such a perfect location. Easy walking distance to town and right across the road from the beach. The unit was clean but dated. Would have loved a big comfy couch to be able to sit and relax in after a big day.

We were upgraded to a ground floor ocean view unit. While we appreciated the extra space, we found the lack of seating in the lounge area inconvenient. While there were two extra beds in the lounge area (for families we assume), there was no comfortable seating for watching tv. The two chairs in the room were just too low, especially for older people.

Awesome spot!

Down for the night so partner could join a fishing charter next day. This is my go to place when in Whitianga. The owners are great, so helpfull. You cant beat the location or the sunrise view! Thanks so much! see you next time :)

If you like long walks along the beach, then this is literally the hotel for you. Close enough to make the wharf and downtown walkable (about 15-20 minutes depending on your speed), but far enough to not be in the middle of it all. Oh and the view of the Mercury Bay and beyond is perfection for relaxing with your morning coffee (especially if it rains on the bay - the rainbows are quite something).
