Friendly staff.
Lovely food and drink.
Beautiful room but was a little bit noisy as we were above a speaker in the bar area and could easily hear people speaking.
However it was such a lovey place we would definitely stay again!
Nadia at check-in to dinner service was amazing &so kind. We had the roughest day & ended up getting to the Smugglers Inn after 7p, 1 room left & she was so sweet. The food is top notch at dinner! EST we’ve had so far on our two week trip haunting all over Bath, Cornwall, & London!!!
Our stay at Smugglers Inn was excellent there was a bit of noise on the first night with staff chatting till the early hours, but second night was very peaceful. I would definitely stay here again.
Best hotel stay in UK. Great old hotel with character. Area amazing. Rooms clean, meal really great and freshly made. Staff very helpful. Was best stay in 2 month trip.
Stunning hotel, cosy and welcoming. Lovely decor in room. Amazing location. Delicious breakfast. Excellent service.
One of the best hotels on the South West coastal path!
This hidden gem is a great place to stay. The staff bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and well fed. Not at all cold like most hotel rooms very individual.
We have been here many times but this time we decided to stay and I'm glad we did. It was my partner's birthday and I wanted it to be special and they helped with that. They upgraded us to a better room they provided her with a bottle of prosecco and they even took care of our breakfast. Throughout the stay I couldn't have been happier so a big thankyou goes to all the staff.

Ideal location for walking along coastal paths and going on beach.Ice jugs of tap water replenished on request, comfy beds and rooms very clean. However parking on arrival was a nightmare,no allocated parking spaces for residents,no seating area in pub specifically reserved for residents .Menu for Sunday evening dining restricted as a third of menu they had ran out of food !! and could of gone somewhere else .Waitress for evening meal appeared harassed and was rude therefore no tip was left.
The staff were delightful. Easy and friendly. The food was very good. Our Jack Russel was welcomed. The room was clean and comfortable. Now we have found it, we will return. Not a place for long stays though. No wardrobe or draws, but that did not phase us.
Really friendly, hardworking staff. The location is lovely, room 4 not the greatest view over the kitchen industrial fan which was a little noisy. Excellent breakfast, with nice continental selection, great coffee and delicious cooked breakfast. Only sad end to the break was leaving my hat at the pub which was rather sentimental in value to me and despite returning two hours later there was no sign of it. Fingers crossed it is found and we can have another visit to collect.
What a gem! This place was just perfect. The food was Awesome (I rarely eat desserts but my husband ordered the mouse and it was out of this world) great service, welcoming and very accommodating. Full Breakfast was included and cooked to order and the croissants were baked fresh every morning We enjoyed long daily walks and the scenery is just fabulous. My husband and I will definitely be returning. Louie, Lloyd, Nadia and Hebbie ( not sure I spelled that correctly)were fantastic hosts and a credit to the inn. Love love love this place. 10/10
The Smugglers Inn was delightful. The staff were all extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was excellent, we had dinner there which was really good (advise booking it was full when we were there), and breakfast was great. Delicious choice of different fresh croissants, and fruit and cereal options. Full menu with lots to choose from for cooked breakfast, we had the full english which was scrummy and filling.
Room was really nicely decorated, and everything you needed. Big tele! Extensive choice of different tea, coffee and hot chocolate options, and cans of water. Really nice toiletries in the bathroom. Great rainfall shower.
Only slight negative was that the room was a quite warm after a hot day, even with the window open. Difficult to know what they could do to help with that in such a lovely old building, have a fan maybe? I couldnt take a star off for it though as it was too nice not to be 5 star! Great spot for a rest after a hard day's walking on the stunning jurassic coast.
