Fosters Guest House

We needed an overnight stay in the Weymouth area at fairly short notice and found this Guest House online, upon arrival we received a warm welcome from Teresa the owner, it had rained heavily that day and our jackets were soaked but she hung them up in a warm place to dry, the room was very clean and tidy with an ensuite bathroom and the breakfast was great, it was only a short walk to the town centre where there plenty of places to eat, we will almost certainly be returning

Lovely hosts, mixed experience

Good points: 1) The hosts, Mark and Theresa are really lovely. Accommodating, friendly, helpful and just the right balance of happy-to-chat but boundaried. 2) Room is spotlessly clean and very comfortable 3) Place handily located: town, seafront and transport links all within easy walking distance Downsides: 1) Internet connection in my room was terrible and as one of the main reasons I came on holiday was to do some life planning in peace in the evenings, this was a bit of a blow. After two nights of frustration, hosts kindly let me use the breakfast room in the evenings but obviously this is less comfortable than being tucked up in your own room. I was right up at the top of the house which might have made a difference – don't think other guests had the same problem. 2) Not the fault of the hosts but it's not the quietest. There was a lot of noise from the street (one night local yobs were being very rowdy, one morning I was woken up at 7ish by a man screaming abuse down the phone at his girlfriend). Could also hear noise from the room next door to me, including, unfortunately, being kept awake by another guest's snoring.

Nice Guest House Short Walk to Front

Foster's guest house is a small guest house (6 rooms?) a short walk from the Esplanade in Weymouth. The owners could not have been more helpful. They had a parking permit we used for the weekend. We were in Weymouth for the Ironman 70.3 and had a bike with us that we did not want to leave in the car. The stairs and rooms are not big enough to take bikes, but the owners were more than happy to allow bikes to be stored in the dining room. Good full English breakfast.

Excellent stay and great breakfast. No complaints whatsoever, and would stay again, but would choose a larger room next time, as we only booked a small double. Mark & Teresa were excellent hosts and very obliging with information etc,.
