The hotel was “sold” out of rooms. I booked online for a king bed room. When we arrived at the hotel to check in and the front desk worker was just hanging out and talking, she never acknowledged us for a good 3-4 mins. When we got to the counter she began checking us in and said that I would not be getting a king room like we had paid for and got confirmation for. She said all o the rooms were sold out and there’s nothing she could do. For obvious reasons I was annoyed already. She then excused herself to go and “check” our room because another guest checked in and said there was clothes still in the other room, so she wanted to make sure it was clean w no other issues. About 6-7 mins later she returned to complete our check in. She said everything was now fine and gave us keys etc. I called our booking company and let them know about the room situation and they contacted the hotel manager. We were compensated but that honestly was not my complaint. The lady was rude and had absolutely NO compassion for us, the customer. Other than starting off our night like that, the next morning everything was great, breakfast was good and lady at the desk was super sweet.
