"As usual, IBIS provided a small room that somehow has a place for all of our possessions. Hooks, shelves, hangers, small tables, good lighting and a large comfortable lobby/entertainment area. The staff were very helpful including storing our luggage for 12 hours on our last day. The carpet in our room did have several nasty spills on it that should be corrected before the room is rented again.
We liked the Hideout for coffee and fresh pastries, one block. There are quite a few cafes and shops by the Guildhall, and an extensive shopping area a few blocks beyond that. The cafe across the road on the 5th floor of the university building was not operational.
Walking to Southsea or Gunwharf Quay is about 15 minutes. The Millenium Promenade was one of our favorite things in Portsmouth and it's free. Also, Osborne House on the Isle of Wight was pretty great."
"Really nice staff, very welcoming it’s looking a little tired now in communal areas and bathroom but lovely grounds to walk around.
Unfortunately our evening meal came out cold and then came back microwaved after sending it back."
"Didn't require parking. Good location but the Fareham I grew up in is a shell of its former self. I left in 1975 when it was a lovely market town. The same can be said for The Red Lion. Worn and shabby. They do however have a nice pub and the food is good. Our room was adequate but the ancient shower plumbing was a challenge "
"I would describe the stay as travelodge level rooms- fairly basic. Probably a 2-3 star stat. Standard of cleanliness isn’t great- the room had a faint smell of damp or urines. The mugs in the room were also dirty
The facilities were surprisingly impressive- a good sized pool and proper gym.
We stayed here and spent the first day in Portsmouth and the second day in Chichester. It’s a good and accessible location."
"Spa was amazing, I had a back massage which was so nice. The rooms could do with a bit of a touch up as some of the decor is bit tired now. Also Air conditioning would be a benefit we did have a fan but the room was so hot."
