"I met three staff during my stay, Maggie, Kelly and Ian - the really are lovely people. Despite a busy shift they still made time to make me feel welcome. We had wonderful discussions on the historic hotel which has history going back hundreds of years, from the Jacobite Rebellion to an American President and even the Queen of England! The original marble and woodwork are visible throughout the building. A historic masterpiece. I absolutely intend to come back! Thanks all!"

"Centrally situated near to all amenities. My single room was basic but comfortable enough, spotlessly cleaned every day and quiet. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and well cooked and presented. I recommend that you check the hot water on entry as when I checked in I wsinceas very tired after my journey and piled into bed. "We were given an upgraded room which meant king size bed but narrow window with frosted glass! Missing items were Shampoo Hairdryer No shelf in bathroom to put stuff An ironing board provided but no iron! At least there was a kettle with coffee and tea Breakfast was average but limited number of fried eggs, probably 12, which were all gone as everyone was there at 8 on Sunday so none for us!! Price reflects what you get!"

"Pretty remote so if you’re out driving, make sure you become familiar with the (fairly convenient) bus schedule, although it’s a half mile from the bus stop, or be prepared to pay a healthy taxi/Uber fare from Keswick. The grounds are lovely and rooms/common areas well-maintained. Breakfast doesn’t start until 0745, very inconvenient for an early start. Staff could be a little more helpful in pointing out bus schedule, local attractions, arranging cabs, etc. a nice experience overall."
