Stayed here for a long weekend. Turns out walker was having a town celebration. Hotel is just a five minute walk from downtown. Had a blast. Hotel was full but never heard a thing. Jimmy’s breakfast next door is amazing. Shingobees on the lake is also good

I booked two rooms for myself and two other family members. Staff was friendly and attentive, and I liked the “Every for four days cleaning unless you request otherwise” policy. Environmentally positive! Our only concern was the towels. They could use some softening - like drying off with a loofah; but more importantly the one my brother used had dried blood all across one side, which he didn’t see before picking it up. 😳

Original stay was for 4 nights. Our stay had to be extended for a night. Approached the front desk - was told that every room is sold out for the night. Went on Expedia and booked a room in the same hotel right away. The room that we transferred to was supposed to be an “executive suite”. The only difference was a king bed, couch and half the size of fridge from the previous room. Which doesn’t make any sense. Staff were not accommodating nor understanding that we have already stayed for 4 nights. Our “executive suite” REAKED OF CIGARETTES. When the hotel is SUPPOSED TO BE NON-SMOKING. Super overpriced. I paid over $210 for 1 night - for a terrible room that was supposed to be “executive”. Not impressed at all - just wanted somewhere to sleep before driving 17hrs home. Ice machine was broken the entire time while we were there. Staff are not friendly, nor do they seem like they want to be there. Customer service is a thumbs down

It was a little odd that the property was adjoining the restaurant but didn't seem to be affiliated in any way. Our room was decent sized, and pretty clean overall. HVAC system was excessively noisy, even after I turned it off completely. The same could be said of the fridge in the room. Then anytime anyone in your room or adjoining rooms flushed the toilet, you heard it loud & clear for the entirety of the flush/refill. Area was very walkable & we walked to a couple restaurants while we were there & it was easy to access the bike paths as well. All in all, I'd say it was just OK. Not bad, but not great.

We really liked this place and would not hesitate to book here again. Pros: Nice quiet location with a super-friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were good and the place was really quiet at night. It also has a really nice, good-sized indoor pool. It’s located just on the outskirts of the town so there’s plenty of shopping and lake access in a very short walking/driving distance. Best of all, loons in the lake! Cons: The rooms, or at least the one we had, are a bit dated. Everything certainly looked clean, but definitely a bit worn down. One special note, for those getting the ‘economy’ room (307?); the bathroom needs some rework. The shower could fit 4 people easily, but the toilet is unbelievably low and is jammed into a corner, making the ‘sit down’ experience a bit of an adventure. I’m 5’ 8” and 225 lbs., and it was definitely an ‘issue.’ If you’re bigger than me, avoid this room until they redo the bathroom. Definitely not enough to take a star off, but something you and they should be aware of.
