"Very unique property and we t
Really enjoyed our stay. The eclectic furnishings and ambiance fits perfectly with the Astoria. The location is excellent for exploring the waterfront and downtown areas."
"I absolutely loved this place as soon as I checked in … which was a bit early, but by the time the clerk and I talked and laughed over “remember when” before there were seat belts and safe child seats, it was pretty much on time. Then I got in my room. I was thrown back to my childhood. The 50’s decor was AMAZING!! Everything was clean, the room and bed were comfortable, plus, my room had a great view of the Astoria Bridge. I definitely recommend this place with its quirky ambiance. If I’m ever in Astoria again, I will consider no where else."
"Breads, muffins, etc. for breakfast were a little dry. Otherwise, food was fine. Only complaint about the room was that the bathroom sink, although beautiful, was too high for my 5'4" height - kept splashing myself to wash my face."
Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria
8/10 Good
"Hotel is perfectly fine. It’s a little dated, and be aware that the sole room sink is outside the bathroom. We enjoyed the location right on the boardwalk and near the pier."
"This hotel is certainly pristine in its layout and location close to the Columbia River. The staff was helpful but not always present at the front desk. The exercise room and the pool areas were top notch!
As for the breakfast area...well, the layout and beauty of the area was of "fine restaurant" quality. The food itself, however, was--at best--mediocre. And the coffee...well, I admit we are "coffee snobs" from Washington State, but still...to have only two coffee offerings--"light roast" and "decaf"--is perhaps a "breakfast blunder." In the morning, nothing "wakes up" a body like "dark roast" coffee. And the coffee should be checked often to make sure the thermos container keeps it hot. After about an hour in the breakfast room, the milquetoast "light roast" coffee was only lukewarm.
Sorry, but the room accommodations and the amenities were wonderful; the free breakfast...not so much."
"It was a very comfortable spacious room with king size bed and view. Breakfast was pretty good. The walls were a little thin so could hear people talking loudly first night and had trouble sleeping, but second night was perfect. Reasonable proximity to Seaside and Canon Beach and easy access to highways. Lots of amenities nearby in Astoria; such a quaint town with a little bit of everything."
