"We had a wonderful stay at the Pilsley Inn. The breakfast was excellent, with high-quality food and a great variety to start the day. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and the setting is both charming and ideally located for visiting Chatsworth House. Staying on the estate provided added benefits for access to Chatsworth, which enhanced the overall experience. What truly stood out, however, was the staff, especially Emma. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. Thoughtful touches, such as the option to have fresh flowers in the room, made the experience feel even more special. We would highly recommend staying here and would gladly return."

"The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were great and freshly cooked. There was a good choice for the dinner menu and very good quality food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. Thanks for great stay."

"Room was clean but dated and could do with a refresh. Evening meal was excellent, I had the steak & Malbec pie and it is one of the best pies I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, there were two of us and one wanted black pudding and one didn’t but neither got any, nor did we get the fried bread, there were only two juices available, orange and apple (I think) but the orange juice ran out and not replenished although there were staff around. You could have tea or coffee by request but only one latte or cappuccino, there were no cereals, fruit or danish etc which you would expect from a hotel chain such as this (Marstons). However the staff, especially at dinner, were absolutely fantastic, always on hand to help and not too overbearing with the usual ‘is your meal ok’ type scenario. They are a credit to the company. The reason for the 3 stars is the room needing updating and the breakfast."

"The parking was very limited, first come first served basis Think there was about 14 spaces. The hotel was lovely and clean with nice decor, but most of all the staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful, especially reception and restaurant staff, couldnt fault them at all ."

"Lovely clean room, and comfortable bed. The bar area was nice with a lot of choice. We ate at the restaurant- food was lovely but the service was poor. After we had our starter, it took over an hour for our mains to arrive. Nobody came to check on us or apologise for the delay. I had to grab a passing barman to ask for more drinks and after being there an hour and a quarter, chase up our mains. Such a shame because the food was very tasty but I wouldn’t eat there again "

"This is a delightful boutique hotel with attentive staff and delicious food. We had a lovely experience in our clean and well-stocked room (water, coffee, tea, fan, robes). No washcloths were provided so bring your own. Will definitely stay here again if in the area."

"Room spotless. Refurbished beautifully. Views towards Chatsworth amazing. Garden room restaurant pleasant. Menu was reasonable. Eg Haddock and chips generous but vegetarian options lacking either in portion size or flavour. Breakfasts were stunning and faultless. We will definitely book to go again as we loved it! "
