The property has an understated charm of years past. I’ve stayed there numerous times. Unfortunately, this time the room was disgustingly worn and dirty. We were in room 411 and it needed a deep cleaning. The bathroom was grotesque! I was hesitant to even shower. I hope, improvements are forthcoming to bring back the charm it once had!

I was very tired from the trip from New Orleans, connecting in Cancun, and needed to rest for a moment. The manager didn't want to check me in before 3:00 p.m. He only wanted to store my suitcase. It was a little annoying because I've stayed in other hotels before, and they gave me the opportunity to give me the room earlier because they weren't full.

This property should NOT be advertised as a 4 star hotel, it is not. It's a shame, because the building is historical, the rooms need a remodeling, not enough outlets, the shower is scary. Now, the staff in the parking garage super attentive, as well as the maids, but the guys at the front desk are super rude, specially the young kid working generally at night, I checked in on Friday the 2nd around 8 pm and the young gentleman at the front desk it made it seem like I was inconveniencing him and he could not wait to sit in the corner checking his phone. The next day I needed a taxi in the morning and the second guy at the desk said they may not come in because they're doing work in the side streets, even though there's still access to the hotel, customer service for these two guys is not their thing. I would not go back to this property.
