Absolutely fantastic property. Rene and Marianne were amazing hosts. You felt like you had your own apartment, with a private area for a sauna and spa listening to the beautiful birds in the aviary. The pizza is a must!! Reminded me of pizza in Italy! And the breakfast was wonderful, fresh homegrown, whole food. We loved it and would definitely recommend the stay if you are in the area.

This was a great place to stay. The room was spacious and was connected to a small dining and living room. René and Marianne were friendly hosts and breakfasts was plentiful, delicious, farm-to-table, and varied daily. One day we had to leave early for a kayak trip in Abel Tasman and they went out of their way to provide easy to take foods at 0600! We didn’t expect that. After a long day, they had homemade cookies for us, too. Fresh fruit and tea and coffee always available. You have to taste the fruit! We didn’t do our research and didn’t realize the distance and the road from Abel Tasman would be that challenging. So once you are at the B&B enjoy the surrounding area and the amenities provided by the B&B and the hospitality given by René and Marianne. The aviary is a treat to see. If you are expecting a pristine resort, this isn’t for you. This is a working farm with down-to-earth owners. Sign to Golden Caves needs to be repainted is my only suggestion.

The place is so cozy with your own porch In the Garden. There is a Wonderful tub to sit in at night and star gaze. Breakfast was delicious and everyone is so nice!

Good location not too far from the beach

Enjoyed staying here, comfortable and clean. Nice being able to walk around the farm. Breakfast was very nice. Only downsides were that the room didn't have any view or access to one and the hot tub would have come with an additional charge if we chose to use it which was quite expensive. The problem we had was the wall between our room and the next was very thin and the other guests at the time very noisy, maybe a room layout change would reduce the impact of this I don't know.
