Radisson RED Glasgow

Radisson RED Glasgow

8/10 Good
"Very convenient location with parking (additional cost); lovely big room, great view and exceptionally comfortable bed; excellent breakfast with friendly and helpful staff but badly let down by one of the worst evening meals I’ve ever eaten. Had we not been tired and hungry it would have gone straight back, not that the casual, indifferent and poorly-trained waitress (different from the breakfast team) cared in the slightest! I’ve had better burgers in MacDonalds and as for my wife’s pizza the less said the better. A major disappointment and very poor value food which spoiled the overall experience."

"Booked for a mid-July stay for 1 night to catch a train the next morning at central station. The hotel is across the street from the station, which was a huge plus. The area was a tad sketchy but the hotel was well maintained. I found staff to be slightly disengaged but the person who checked us in was friendly though not very helpful. We booked a room with a king and sofa bed and wow! We got this beautiful corner room with floor to ceiling windows! It was lovely! The rooms are definitely modern and trendy but it is a little weird to take a shower without a private space to change, when you’re traveling with someone you don’t want to change in front of. Nonetheless, we were incredibly pleased with the large, airy space and the king bed was comfortable and the sofa bed was adequate."

10/10 Excellent
"In an excellent location for the West End and the University of Glasgow. The University, shops and subway as well as the botanical gardens were all within a very short walk away. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the coffee machine was a welcome benefit. We arrived early and left late the next day and were able to store our luggage whilst we explored."

"The hotel looks shabby and the rooms have seen better days and initially I was disappointed but actually it was clean and comfortable, tidied daily with a nice bathroom so it did what was needed. The breakfast was fresh cooked and very good and the staff were very friendly. Also location is good If you care what it looks like it's probably not for you but if you want clean comfortable and convenient on a budget go for it."

Argyll Hotel

8/10 Good
"We stayed for one night at the Argyll and it was pretty good. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. Our room was large, and the shower was spacious. The carpet in the room is a little dated though and doesn’t give the feeling of being clean. Breakfast was pretty good, can’t complain."

Vibrant Spacious Apartment In West End

Vibrant Spacious Apartment In West End

10/10 Excellent
"This is a VERY spacious one-bedroom, ground-floor flat. It's within easy walking distance (four or five blocks) of major West End destinations such as Botanical Gardens, University of Glasgow and the Hunterian museum. The Kelvingrove museum is a bit farther, but still easily walkable across campus. The property is clean. Furnishings are quite comfortable, if spare. The newly remodeled bathroom is modern. On-street parking in the neighborhood appears to be exceptionally limited. We were traveling by train and walked from Kelvinbridge subway station, about a five-block walk slightly uphill. It's doable, even with roller suitcases. The neighborhood is quiet. Great Western Road two blocks away provides a variety of restaurants and pubs. More choices, including a full grocery store, are available on Byres Road, about a 10-minute walk."
