The staff were very polite and kind. I booked here after having a horrible experience at a different accommodation. It made a huge difference in my trip! I am very thankful that I got to stay here. I definitely would stay again!
Our stay was a wonderful opportunity to prepare for our trip to Gorkhi-Terelj NP.
The staff was courteous and professional.
The breakfast buffet offers a delicious selection of breads, pastries and other hot foods.
This hotel should have better reviews. Clean and comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and relaxing, and the room was spotless. WiFi worked well throughout my stay, and the breakfast offered a good variety of options.

I had an excellent stay at the Ulaanbaatar Hotel. The check-in was efficient, the staff were very courteous and professional, and the check-out was quick. The room was comfortable, warm, clean, spacious and well equipped. The daily breakfast was delicious and had a great variety. The hotel is very conveniently location - I walked to every meeting, restaurant and mall. I will definitely stay at the hotel again!
Our room 405 was clean, quiet and comfortable. All staff was courteous and professional.
Special thanks to the Concierge, a young lady, who assisted with our check-out on December 30th helped us to call a taxi for our transfer to the bus station. We are lforward to our upcoming stay on January 12th.

The building is old and spooky in a way.. but staff are all very nice. Decent breakfast. Good location. Convenience store in the building. It’s good for the price.
The property was very clean. I booked the last room and someone had smoked inside. I let the staff know and the room was changed the next morning which made the stay perfect. I ate breakfast at the hotel only because I was busy, but I was surprised by the menu of proper food instead of street fast foods like egg potato sausage at US/UK hotels.
My room was on the third floor, and there was loud singing noise coming from an event hall until 4 AM. It was so loud that I couldn’t sleep at all. I was surprised that the hotel allows events to run so late at night.
Ulaanbaatar’s “oldest five star hotel” is barely a two star by modern standards. Shabby rooms, broken heat, leaks, and an event space on the first floor that plays music so loud on the weekend that it physically shakes rooms on the fourth and fifth floors (thankfully the music fades a little after 11pm - but if you have an early morning tour on Saturday or Sunday, good luck trying to sleep until after ~11:15pm or so). Basic room has no bath tub, only a cramped shower stall. Saw reviews about the “nice breakfast” and can only assume those folks have never been to a decent hotel. It’s basic at best, with instant coffee and sugar water “juices” - you will be charged extra for a real coffee from the espresso machine (first time I’ve experienced this across hundreds of hotels in ~30 countries as a frequent business traveler). Odd quirks abound, one being the mirrored finish on the front door that makes it hard to see inside - you might get the door swung in your face right as you’re approaching since you can’t see the person on the other side. Came back to two doormen standing next to the front door one afternoon - neither of which actually held the door for guests returning to the hotel! Bizarre. Two redeeming qualities: staff (other than the useless “doormen”) were friendly and surprisingly international. And the gym on the 6th floor, despite having old equipment, was surprisingly extensive. The location is also great if you need to be downtown. But you can probably do better!
An old soviet era hotel which has been well renovated. Right in the city centre, reception staff speak good English and arranged airport transfers and tours at a reasonable price.
Large, comfortable room. Good range of food for breakfast, dinner quality is more variable but excellent Chinese restaurant as well
Room is spacious and modern. Bedroom slippers were also provided. Shampoo, shower gel and body lotion were in non-single use containers but would have been nice if there was also conditioner. Wasn’t much wardrobe space to hang clothes and the water from the shower tends to leak out onto the toilet bowl area. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop for the airport bus and had secure wifi so that was great. Overall, would choose to stay here again.
