We were late arriving, rang to let them know an ETA (9.30pm) and enquired if they were still serving food, they informed us that they had stopped serving food around 8 pm, but that they would cook for us on arrival, which was ideal (particularly for a family of 4, all hungry and tired)! "The property in a beautiful ancient coaching inn. The pub downstairs is friendly, the food and drinks are like any Greene King pub so it's well priced and good. Breakfast is cheaper if bought on the room. There is a choice of buffet or buffet+hot. Both are nice. Inevitably the property shows some signs of age. Definitely ready for some paint touch up. "There is parking behind the waitrose and staff walked us there after their shift had ended to ensure we understood the parking App since tomorrow is the Farmers Market on High Street and we would have to move the vehicle early. Now it’s all sorted and paid in advance. Of course it’s an older hotel and everything is crooked and settled, but you should come here for that eclectic experience, as we did. I just miss the old mural that was painted in the pub before, replaced by a more modern map. "
