"We had a really lovely night here. We came up to stay for a sports competition. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and made a special effort for us to have an early breakfast. The rooms were fine and clean. The rooms are basic but it's a good price for it. Beds were comfy.
We ate in the restaurant, and the food and service was fabulous!
Would happily stay again if I was in the area."
"Small but clean room and en suite shower room. Was a little noisy from the main road with the window open but fine at night when closed. The charging sockets were useful and the host was really helpful, letting me borrow a hairdryer. Parking was easy around the back of the property and access was convenient through the side entrance. Perfect for my needs this weekend and good value."
"Lovely room, with a very nice bathroom. The hotel was well located within a 2 min walk from the centre of town which made an evening walk around the old sights very enjoyable. The parking was off site but very close by. The restaurant and bar were very nice. An open area for making the home made pizza was lovely and the breakfast was also very nice. "I was very impressed with the Queen's Head. Nice clean room in a great location in Higher Buxton. Housekeeping promptly every day. First-rate full English breakfast included.
My only complaint is that the room was rather small. There was no space to have an open suitcase, so I had to stuff it in a closet. That was a little inconvenient. Of course, I realize there is nothing they can do about that. It is an old building, and the room size is what it is."
