"I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. We enjoyed a drink in the beautiful bar lobby at the end of our days, and the hotel was quiet and seemed to attract a mature clientele. We would definitely stay again."

"Super convenient and bougie hotel! Great location right on the Douro. Everything was great; just a bit on the pricey side. A bit disappointing that I couldn’t get a room with a balcony or a reservation on the rooftop restaurant, but oh well. Breakfast was good. Was a great surprise to have a second bathroom! As Canadians, the absence of decent, large size coffee is a bummer, but that’s the European way!"

"Fabulous location and the views are amazing as you eat breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the river and bridge Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you they work so hard Fabulous comfy bed; great hot shower- the toiletries smell gorgeous too !
