The property is run down, peeling wallpaper in halls and stained carpets. Rooms are surprisingly small. Wifi dud not work consistently. Nice towels and friendly staff. Wonderful cherry blossoms in Ueno Park so close by.

We had stayed at Centurion in Ameyokocho many times and loved it. We were shocked to find that this time we were at a sister property near Shinobazu pond. Be aware when you book that there is a sister property. It is a noisy area during the night and early morning. Did not feel safe at night.

The hotel itself was really clean and the housing staffs were kind. I think there was a ‘snack bar’, I think it’s a kind of karaoke which serves alcohol? 3 nights out of 4 there was someone singing overnight and it was really terrible. Other than that, it was a great experience.

If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend definitely can hear everything from outside. If you like, drinking plenty of bars around the area and clubs if you’re into that stuff. Hotel is clean and the staff are great and helpful.

The staff called my room at 6am until I picked up the phone for no apparent reason. and then the tv in my room was programmed to turn on at max volume at 6:45am for no apparent reason. There is no excuse for this!

Paid for a room for three person and it's so small not even capable to put our luggages, so noisy from next door neighbour too. Reception is at the second floor from just one escalator and we have six luggages to have move, remembered there's only one way either up or down, quite stupid concept, I would give 3 stars to it according to the location to the shopping and eating district

The room is pretty small, but understandable considering the area and cost. The bathroom is tiny and poorly designed, very difficult getting in and out of.

The hot tub and the fact that it was a single room that could accommodate our full family are why we stayed, and we were happy with that. The hot tub is nice even though the deck it is on is not in great shape. The room is cramped but we expected that. But it has poor lighting. The hotel is very convenient to Ueno park. I went for a walk around 7:00 A.M. one morning and was approached by 3 separate women right outside the hotel entrance. I could not tell what they were saying but it left me with some negative feelings about the location.

Close to main train stations. Lots of restaurants but lots of establishments that provide services, lots of young ladies on the streets. Front desk below average, not welcoming at all. No staff to greet you. Glad only booked it for three nights. Moved to a different area and very happy with the new hotel MONday Asakusa. What a difference. I would not recommend Centurion hotel. I wish I could get my money back. Please Hotels.com this is not suitable for families.

I was interested in booking this hotel for my family because it was conveniently located near Ueno Station. I booked two rooms, with the smaller room located the main building and the larger room located in the annex building. For the price point, the smaller room was similar to other hotel rooms in the area, but the bathroom was very small. The larger room was more reasonably sized. Overall, the rooms did the job for being a home base for traveling around the city. The staff were helpful and spoke English well, and the lobby was fine for being an older property. The only con is that the area is noisy, which isn't a problem if your room is in the higher areas; and that the area at night is a bit sketchy (though still safe since it is Tokyo), so people visiting with families should be aware at nigh if taking a direct route to the hotel from Ueno Station or consider navigating on the main roads instead.

The room we booked was nice and quite big by Japanese standards, a couple draw backs though, the mattress had a memory foam topper which was uncomfortable also there wasn't a safety deposit box in the room and when I asked reception to look after our things they refused which isn't really acceptable. On the plus side the area around the hotel is great with lots of shops and 100s of restaurants and cafes.

Very super tiny room, no place for a luggage and hang suits. Although the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was terrible. Shower drain was blocked so ending up with 15 cm of water in the bath during washing. Other than that, it is very-well located. Numerous restaurants and shops around and walking distance to all main train lines.

My Nth stay at this hotel!
I've always stayed in this hotel whenever I'm in Tokyo. Few frills and limited shopping options in the area, but it's very comfortable and the staff is efficient. The best feature is this hotel is close to the train from Narita Airport, and is also close to at least 3 popular commuter train lines that take you around the city. I will most likely stay here again when I return to Tokyo.

Ueno hotel stay
Book with confidence. Great location in Ueno. Close to the train, subway and tons of food. Stayed 2 nights originally and then booked another 6 nights. Small as expected but clean and comfortable.

We loved our room, the Japanese style family room. It was exactly as described and had an open-air bath outside the room. It was perfect for a big family. The staff were amazing too during check in. It was an easy process.

Ueno is Bueno at the Centurion Hotel Ueno
We stayed in the annex building of the Centurion Hotel Ueno the room was clean and comfortable but quite small which we did expect with it being Tokyo..our only complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby but the Family Mart in the building was a real plus as well as the coin laundry on site...The location was great for us near Ueno Park and the Yamanote line lots of restaurants nearby and a small grocery store across the alleyway we would definitely stay here again especially if they do something about the cigarette smell
