Loved my stay! Airport transfer was easily arranged even at 12am with no issues at all. Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, and a very convenient location close to the airport. The masala dosa was the best I’ve ever had! The perfect option for a night after a long flight.

Santa Maria is a beautiful gem located right on the ocean. The owners are very kind, thoughtful, and accommodating of their guests. It is very conveniently located near the airport (15 minutes by taxi) and many other attractions Kerala has to offer. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with some offering ocean views and balconies to enjoy the sunsets and watch the local fishermen haul in their catches of the day. Staff can cook meals upon request and serve lovely juice- highly recommend the cucumber, ginger, lime juice. We are very greatful to the owners for our stay there and would gladly stay again.

I returned to the Santa Maria Boutique by the Sea a few days prior to my flight from Trivandrum international airport. It's such a pleasant stay, right on the beach with the sound of the surf always in the background, and soft breezes blowing off the Indian Ocean. The food is wonderful, and the owners and staff make you feel right at home. The ride to Trivandrum airport was literally only a few minutes, a very pleasant and unhurried experience. I definitely look forward to returning when I visit Kerala again.

This is a gem of a hotel that literally sits within feet of the beach with every room having an ocean view! It's only a few minutes from the Trivandrum International Airport, very nice after a long flight! The grounds are an oasis, meticulously decorated with live plants, flowers and trees, with antique furniture and decorations contributing to a warm and charming atmosphere. The on site cooked authentic South Indian delicious included breakfasts and optional dinners are a real delight, allowing you to just enjoy a lazy day in the hammock or on the beach enjoying the cool breezes and native bird melodies that fill the air. The young couple owners and staff are very welcoming and accommodating, contributing to the relaxed and at home experience that you won't soon forget! Reserve this one if you can!

We had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with this homestay. After booking the room days in advance, we drove nearly 7 hours to reach the property — with my wife unwell during the journey — only to receive a call from Mr. Bijoy at 5 PM asking us to cancel our reservation. His reason was that the existing guests “couldn’t fly out of India” and would be extending their stay. This is completely unacceptable. A confirmed booking is a commitment. How can a host arbitrarily decide to retain a room that has already been reserved and paid for? Poor planning on their part should not become an emergency for their guests. We were left stranded in the evening, forced to scramble for alternative accommodation after hours on the road. There was no support, no assistance, no accountability — just a request for us to cancel. To make matters worse, the guests being retained were American, and the situation raises serious concerns about preferential treatment and racial profiling. This experience reflects a complete lack of professionalism, reliability, and basic hospitality ethics. I would strongly advise future travellers to think twice before booking here if you value certainty and respect for your time and wellbeing.

Avoid this place - I stayed here yesterday (thankfully only for one night), there were rats in the bathroom (not one but a few). It was so bad that I had to avoid using the bathroom whilst I stayed here.

Nice garden with hammocks to relax

We were very disappointed with the service at this hotel. When we tried to pay during the day, no staff were present at reception. We went to reception several times and I even sat in the garden for an hour on a video call and didn’t see anyone. We assumed we would be able to settle the bill in the morning, but instead, someone came knocking on our door at 10pm demanding payment. This was intrusive and unprofessional, especially at that hour. It made us feel uncomfortable. The room itself is nice but needs to have the bed fixed as protruding nails are not safe and also it is missing some parts. The windows for the sea view haven’t been cleaned in months and are very badly stained. Also the view is of derelict buildings with damaged roofs. The sea is visible and you can hear the ocean at night. I wandered along the beach and watched locals throw their rubbish into the water! Plastic bags with plastic wrappers it was heart breaking to watch and it happened a lot as I saw others doing this the next day from the window. Beach is littered with rubbish. We visited Kovalam beach this is a clean beach so recommend this if you don’t need to be near airport. Very easy to get uber here there are loads at the nearby airport. Also there are some restaurants you can walk to from here so convenient and there was a fair one evening nearby too. Lots of market stall, could be a weekend activity not sure.
