What an amazing find!!!! Literally in the middle of nowhere, La Scarzoula was a 16th century monastery acquired by Tomaso Bozzi in the 1950s. He proceeded to build what he called his “ideal city”, which features various building structures with a ton of mystic symbols and seven theaters. The theaters are a reference to the drama we call life.

Truly a magical place!
The cluster of building structures on the right makes up the acropolis and is composed of miniature well-known ‘buildings’ such as the Coliseum and the Temple of Vesta. This place is very remote, but it’s worth the drive if you’re able to rent a car. It is very unique.

Got it alllll to myself!
Hint: hang back behind the crowd, especially if you don’t speak Italian. One of the most magical and fascinating places I’ve seen.
