Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is cooked to order and of an excellent quality. The staff are all helpful and efficient. The hotel is ideally situated for access to the town centre, Dad's Army Museum, bus station and is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station. The bar is welcoming and serves a good selection of drinks. There is a small outdoor courtyard area in which to sit if the weather permits. On the negative side, the hotel is definitely in need of some refurbishment and painting, plus replacement of carpets.

The building is falling apart!! The windows are Single glazed so it was so noisy and the actual window frames were rotten so there were massive gaps in the window. I tried pugging the hoes with tissue but it did little good! The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was average at best. The bed itself was comfortable and clean

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpfull especially the ladies serving in the restaurant at breakfast time. The only minus point is the poor state of the fittings in the bathroom, both the toilet and the bath are in need of urgent replacement.
