Great stay. Sometimes staff locks door at night and you will have to wait to be let in, but its good safety and they take care of place very well

The hotel itself is all you can expect from a budget hotel, possibly a bit more. Staff are friendly, beds are comfortable and clean, and breakfast is good. Slight niggle would be it's not near the centre and the bus isn't very frequent, so car is really the only way around. This adds cost as parking is expensive! Maybe loan bikes would help?

Functional chain hotel
It's quite an anonymous, business-orientated hotel, handy for the ring road, less handy for the centre of Leiden on foot or by public transport. The breakfast buffet is good but expensive and there aren't any other options in the area. The room has everything you need, including an espresso pod machine. A shelf in the shower would have been an improvement.

It is a very basic but clean hotel. There is an on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It was a very positive stay. Pillows are thin, bring your own shower gel, and the rooms are small but everything is very clean and it’s also very quiet.

Basic but very clean and tidy does exactly what it says on the tin would happily stay here again. Great location loads of parking only 30mins from Amsterdam and a short walk from Leiden centre

Nice and simple
Very friendly hotel, with lovely staff. A bit far from the centre and room cleaning service in the mornings is rather noisy, but these are small issues. The breakfast in the morning is great.

Location is next to a main car road , noise was quite big before midnight and in the early morning time , pillow is too soft , also the light is not enough in the room . Smell a little in the toilet . Hair dryer is good also coffee machine is nice in the room , nice staff

Breakfast was poor. Lack of cups, bread, glasses had to keep asking for items. Had a glass of red wine in the evening which was horrible couldn't drink it.

The Hotel was had to local as it is not well sign posted and in a isolated area. The hotel cupboards and bed side draw were very dusty.

Hotel close to Leiden
Staff are outstanding, very helpful and very nice indeedl. There is a dining room, and bar. In spite of this it is fairly quiet.

This was a perfectly comfortable hotel. It is a bit outside of Leiden's town center (about a two mile walk to the south from the train station). The staff was helpful, and there are supermarkets near by.

Hotel here if all else fails.
If you like sleeping on a cot 12 inches off the floor with a unfitted sheet wrinkled under you all night, then this is a hotel for you. Also, bring flashlights as the room lights were not adequate and even not working. No value here! Kept the rain off us though.

Nice respite
We stayed in Leiden so we could get around several places in the Netherlands without staying in Amsterdam. Everything was close and it was a good base for day trips. The room was quiet and the hotel was about 2km from the center of town. The room did not have A/C or we couldn't get it to work, but we were too busy to stop and ask about it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Good value for the price.

One relaxing night
In this hotel I slept a single night ; It was an ideal hotel for transit to keokenhof . - The hotel is very clean, with 2 single beds and enough space even for 2 adults and 1 child - There is free wifi in the hotel room and rest - Breakfast buffet Swedish Classic ( ham , cheese, yogurt, butter, honey , jam etc. ) - At the restaurant you can dine a la carte - Free parking - The staff of the hotel was very nice ; we arrived very late (after 8pm ) , but we were welcomed with great kindness (reception is 24h) - It is very close to the motorway A4

Nice Hotel, but too far from the centre.
The staff were friendly, the hotel was ok. I spent most of my time waiting for buses. The hotel was a good price but i spent the money i saved on local transport getting to the city centre. So i might as well booked a hotel more central. One bonus was the hotel had wifi which was free and good. i was able to speak to family members on skype. If you do stay there, the local shopping place Bevrijdingsplein is about half a mile up the road and is very nice a plus point for the hotel. You can get a bag of shopping for the same price they charge for breakfast.

Decent place
Stay was good. Rooms are decent. No grocery store or mini mart close by but there is a McD on the opposite side of the road. Wifi is also good. But i was irritated when my request to extend my stay by 30 more minutes was denied(the hotel was near empty) as i was still jetlagged and woke up late. Their hotel their rules - but gestures like that are needed when your chain of hotels is in multiple locations. The lady kept repeatedly saying in a stern face "your check out time is over" for each of my request to extend- i found it v funny.

Too far from town
This hotel was further from the center of Leiden than it appeared on the map that appeared on Expedia. When it rained, we drove into town rather than walking. Also, you can't make local phone calls from the phone in your room! We had to go to the front desk and call from there.

The staff was amazing. A wonderful breakfast. The rooms aren't spacious but workable. Public transportation is about a 5 minute walk from hotel. From the outside the hotel doesn't look like anything to brag about but once inside its a wonderful surprise.

Nice location out of town with a parking
The hotel BASTION is at the best possible location, on the main highway, but very soundproof. However, rooms are tiny, but modern and comfortable. Restaurant is for emergencies only. Main disadvantage of the BASTION: there is no elevator to go up to second flloor! We shall return nevertheless, because having a decent parking in Leyde is a bonus; and the main city parking HAAGS, is near.

Only disappointment was lack of BBC 1 and 2 on T v which has always been available on our previous visits I'm sure. Otherwise it was like coming back to a friends house as we know the place so well. We are also very grateful to the manager and her assistant for their help when my husband broke his arm loading the car on the morning of our departure. Thanks again.
