"Overall, the main thing that is great about this hotel is that it’s close to many activities in the area. Mostly everything was in walking distance, and this cut down on transportation costs immensely.
The drawbacks were that the hotel misinformed me that they’d be charging me additional fees upon checkout, outside of what Expedia was showing my full receipt and charges to be. The additional charges totaled over $100, and there was no explanation or resolution. There was a hold for incidentals, naturally, but the hotel didn’t have any amenities to charge incidentals for (i.e. no room service, bar, etc.). Therefore, the charges made no sense, were not about to be explained by the staff, and our concerns were dismissed by all staff on-site, including all managers. They simply stated, “This isn’t our problem; take it up with Expedia,” regardless of the fact that Expedia wasn’t responsible for decisions they made at their location.
In the end, I had to resolve the issue with my bank, providing evidence of receipts and the fraudulent charge of $100 additionally.
We will not be utilizing Zephyr’s services in the future, and all business associates, family, and friends are warned to avoid them additionally. There is a Marriott and Hyatt very close by and worth the additional time to walk to destinations and avoid the poor customer service and false advertising/fraudulent charges."
