Pros: Staff were lovely and it was excellent value for money. Rooms great for price point and food very good.
Cons: Looks a little untidy externally and the breakfast offering was a little confusing if you hadn't already booked.
Great room, with lots of extras - mini fridge with fresh milk and cold water, coffee maker, good selection of teas/coffees/biscuits, Dyson fan, lovely toiletries. Comfortable bed.
Friendly helpful staff with great restaurant downstairs with GF options, large car park. Would definitely stay again.
Very comfortable traditional Inn after a wet and windy journey. Warming log fire and friendly staff. Both accomodation and food were excellent - highly recommended.
Staff were all very friendly and the facilities were great. Food was also a really good standard

Overall pleasant stay
Lovely pub with rooms in a village location. Easy to find. Very friendly staff. Straight forward check in and out.
Room was a little tired and dated but comfortable. Very dog friendly.
Working locally and this was perfect for me. Lovely country inn in beautiful surroundings. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again if in the area. Would highly recommend.
A little gem in the heart of beautiful countryside
We booked the bunk inn for an overnight stay on route back to our home in Wales. What a little find it was!!! Really a quaint place to stay. Lovely food with great service from the hotel staff. Our room was lovely clean and bright with everything that we needed and good quality toiletries. We will definitely return when in the area but this time book more than an overnight stay!
The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. Best night's sleep I had in a hotel for a while. I would say the only downside would be hearing tenants walking around in the room above us but this not take away from the overall comfort. Staff were also very accommodating with requests.
We stayed for 2 nights and had the best time - The room was lovely and spacious with everything we could need in there - the lovely shower was fantastic too (not one of those that hardly wets you that you find in some places!)
We ate from the lunchtime menu not long after we arrived and had a salad later in the evening - bot delicious and really fresh. Breakfast the next morning was beautiful - eggs benedict and waffles with bacon - both dishes really fresh and tasty. The staff gave us a local taxi number to get to the racecourse (about 10 - 15 mins away) so we had no worries on that count either. We had the Hanging Kebab after racing, again, delicious and so fresh.
Check out was seamless and easy too.
The staff are great, the management are so helpful and friendly too and we would both highly recommend this place to eat, drink or stay over - all of it was brilliant. Thank you
Really a nice place and something different than all others. Recommend it if you are looking for a cosy place with nice restaurant. The bed and room is great. Just one minus. Breakfast starts at 8 but we got notified it would be 9 because no staff. We paid for it and got some toast and some cerials but was a bit of a downer. If I don't need to have early breakfast I would go again. Colese to highway and Highclere castle by the way.
Loved my stay. Genuinely dog friendly which makes a stay far more enjoyable for me. Lovely location too.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Room was really scruffy, very dusty and paint peeling off the wall. Very odd electrics in the room with massive trunking right above the bed. Very poor soundproofing, could hear every step of the room above.
We loved the features throughout the building. The beams, low ceilings, uneven floors...really kept the character of the building. Rooms were nice albeit a bit strange having the shower in the room and not in the ensuite but good use if available space given grade 2 listed building regulations.
