expensive for shabby old school motel

i dont wever write reviess, this is the reason when i do... the pillow would be barely useful for a hamster and i only use one pillow anyway. next to the railway line.which we stayed up the road before had no issue paper thin windows....hear anythinig due to it being a cheap window.. curtains had been eaten in areas by moths.. the bar of soap would barely clean a cat... i have stayed in some flea pits.. and at $30 to $40 a night but at $70 a night on a sunday, yes trust me there wasnt many options that night but i would drive to mojave and stay there then stay here again.. the ONLY plus was the sign out front whicjh was old school...

Very hard bed and the cable kept cutting out. Could not watch tv. Bed was unbearable, so I bought a twin blue up at Walmart. Very quiet tho. That wS the best part and great location!

Building is very dated, but everything worked and the A/C was pretty new. I wasn't bothered by the train noise at all. I chose this because it had the lowest price and reviews said that it was clean, and in that regard it didn't disappoint.

Older building and rooms, not exactly what I expected for a motel these days. Seemed like a small one man show type of deal. Kind of bare-bones for what was provided in the room, (Only one coffee bag) It had what you need for the night, but not super cozy.

If you love trains this is a great location. It is right across the street from the train museum. Great bakery next door. You better like trains because they run all night and the crossing is right across the street. The heater worked but was noisy..

Very clean accommodation, great little town.

Friendly check-in with the Manager. After a brief discussion it was clear he was quite passionate and dedicated about the motel. The room is perhaps a little dated, but otherwise very clean. As was the bathroom. TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free parking and wifi all included. Heater and light were left on in my room when I checked-in at night. I had a comfortable stay. The only downside to be aware of is that the trains pass by across the street, day and night. They make alot of noise when they 'toot' across the nearby road crossing. Surprisingly however, I was not woken by the trains during the night and slept well. The town has multiple cafes, fast food restaurants, grocery stores and laundromats. Tehachapi has a reputation for being a very safe and friendly town. I was impressed. Well worth a visit.

Vi havde en enkelt nat på Santa Fe Motel på vores vej mod Death Valley. Check in var hurtig og ubesværet med parkerings plads lige foran vores værelse. Værelset var gammelt og slidt, men rent. Motellet ligger tæt på en togbane, så man kunne høre togene dytte hver gang de skulle krydse en vej tæt på, det var rimelig irriterende. Det seneste tog vi hørte var ved 1-tiden og så igen kl 6. Hvis jeg havde vidst at toget var tæt på, havde jeg nok valgt et andet overnatningssted.

The staff was awesome. We arrived late but received a phone call before we got there asking for our ETA. They made sure to wait for us until we arrived. Check in was speedy. The room was clean except the sheets were stained badly. I’d have asked for new ones if we’d arrived earlier. It is across from the train station and the train is very loud as it goes through town multiple times a night.

As previous reviews noted, this place has a fun funky feel. The location is great. There was a farmers market going on a block away. The movie theater was also a couple of blocks away. We took a pleasant evening walk and felt safe. There was a terrific German bakery across the street where we got sandwiches to go for the day's drive. It's an older motel, but clean with a good bed. Bathroom was clean with a cool tiled shower. We'd come back if in the area again.

This is an older Motel, it actually came with a key, how old school is that! That being said, it was very clean, the proprietor was very accommodating, it was extremely quiet, and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small and kind of old-fashioned but suited our needs perfectly for $60 a night. I will gladly stay there again.

Unwelcoming

Chose due to pet policy. Website said pets we’re welcome, with $10 pet fee, which was fine. Acted suspicious of us when we arrived, asking if we notified them there would be a pet (we did, and got a reply that we’d be taken care of). Asked about how many pounds our dog was, although nothing stated there was any limit...just overall unwelcoming. No room cleaning the first day, although we brought our dog with us all day. Ran out of yoilet paper, and had no clean towels. Just not great. Won’t be back.
