It doesn’t exist!!

Well we flew from the U.K. to discover that the hotel had closed down in April and Expedia had not told us. We then had to find accommodation in the busiest two weeks of the season (it was also the Portuguese holidays during the two weeks). So not a great Expedia experience!!!

Peace and quiet

Casa Sol e lua was exactly what we were hoping for Traditional Portuguese villa secluded but close enough to explore the region Emay our host was very knowledgeable kind friendly and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable Would highly recommend villa

Wonderful views in quiet, countryside setting

Very pleased with the location though it took some finding because of inadequate signage from the main road. The approach was over a rough unmade road, which was a concern as we were in a hire car. A homely atmosphere and warm welcome on arrival from delightful staff. The large terraces and clean swimming pool were ideal places to relax in sun or shade. One complaint was having polyester sheets on the bed - cotton sheets next time please. Our room had superb air con. Our notable host was attentive and interesting, he advised us of local restaurants and places to visit.

Hotel eminentemente elegante

Con una fantástica vista sobre el valle del Algarve, Casa Sol e Lua posee una fascinación singularmente atractiva. André recibe a los huéspedes con afabilidad y un encanto todo británico. No se lo pierda... !Experiencia única en su vida!

Andre the owner sent very good directions to find Casa Sol e Lua the first half mile off the main road ok then it changes to unmade dirt track not good,would not drive on this after dark . Reached the hotel and met by Andre very friendly lovely location great views away from everything. The first room we were given was not the room we had booked stayed in this the first night then when the room we had booked became available we moved in the second night both rooms had a damp musty smell and when used the shower the drain was blocked and it overspilled into the bathroom,Good breakfast both mornings but disappointed no other meals available sure it said their was a restaurant on site a small fridge in the only kitchen for everyone to share so we decided to leave after two days Andre was very good but it just wasn't for us.

Versteckt in den Hügeln

Das Haus ist nicht ganz einfach zu finden. Aber es hat sich gelohnt! Wir wurden vom Eigentümer und seinen Hunden sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir blieben zwei Tage und besuchten Tavira und den tollen Strand Praia de Barril. Alles ist von dort aus gut erreichbar. Wir genossen den Pool, das feine Frühstück und das sehr persönliche Ambiente in diesem Haus!

Ein Traum

Ein Traum, diese 2 Tage bei André. Reizender Gastgeber in seinem selbst erbauten Haus. Mitten auf dem Land mit großartiger Aussicht. Ein tolles Zimmer, mit einzigartigem Blick ins Land. Der Gastgeber ist ein reizender Herr, der einen zurückhaltend umsorgt. Ein perfekter Ort zum abschalten und träumen ... jederzeit gern wieder.

Estancia tranquila, limpia

La estancia muy aceptable, el personal muy, muy amable, el desayuno fantástico, las vistas increibles, las únicas pegas es que está muy apartado del centro y el acceso si vas en coche propio no es aconsejable porque puedes dejarte el coche subiendo la montaña para acceder a la casa. También estaría bien tener una llave para poder cerrar la habitación y tener un poco de privacidad. Si no te gustan los perros a veces es un poco pesado estar desayunando y que se te suban encima o que te entren en la habitaciones. Si te gusta el Bed & Breakfast es un sitio fantástico.

Amazing place

A Stay in the Countryside

An excellent stay, Robin & Andre are most excellent hosts. The property is a very easy jaunt to the beaches of the eastern Algarve, including the beautiful, uncrowded Tavira Island. The property is excellently put together and well-kept, with a great, casual B&B experience. Highly, highly recommended. BTW: if you have any issues following directions, take Andre up on his offer to meet you by the highway.

Ro og sjarm i vakre omgivelser

Fantastisk sted. Stort rom med terrasse og utsikt en ikke glemmer. Ro og sjarm. Utmerket service. Vanskelig vei i de siste 8 minutter. Men stedet er verdt disse minuttene.

B&B recommended

For peace and relaxation, it's the place to go. You must like nature, adventure and animals since, André our host, has 3 dogs. Wonderful villa. Decorated with taste and very confortable. We had difficulty to find the place as it is in the mountain but once there it is overwhelming. We had beautiful evenings in good company.

Fantastic in every way

Our stay was beyond what could be anticipated. The house was full of character and charm, our host gave us a great welcome and was helpful in every way. He cooked some exceptional food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A lovely getaway removed from hectic tourism

We loved our stay at Casa Sol e Lua. The homeowners are native English speakers so getting everything sorted was easy. Their property is situated with a breathtaking hill-top view of the Algarve, along with gorgeous sunsets. It was very relaxing to stay there. Words of advise are that you definitely need a car, and should be adventurous enough a person to navigate the rocky dirt roads needed to get to their property. Also, if air conditioning is important to you, perhaps avoid August, although they do have fans. But you should definitely book a visit!

Very nice hotel!

Andre and his wife are very nice hosts! We really enjoyed our stay with them. My husband and I were travelling around Portugal and stayed in 4 different hotels. The best breakfast was provieded in Casa Sol e Lua. If you travel by car and looking for a nice stay in Algarve don't hesitate with this place. Highly recommended!!!

Hotes accueillants. Cependant l endroit est tres difficile a trouver.De plus il vaut mieux avoir un tout terrain qu une simple voiture.

un petit coin de paradis

Un endroit paisible, calme et magnifique perdu dans les oliviers. Les plages ne sont qu'à 15 minutes. Un endroit idéal pour recharger les batteries au son des cigales.

Simply brilliant!

We spent two night here and loved it! André is such a gracious host and huge personality. Andrés wife was out of time during out visit, but we bet she is great as well. The B&B is located on a beautiful hill but can be a bit tricky to find. Just give André a ring and he will meet up and show you the way. The dirt road leading up to the place is rough but we still made it up in our crappy rental car. We had dinner at the B&B one night and still regret we didn't do the same the other evening as well. The food was super tasty (André used to own a restaurant and you can tell) and very resonably priced. The wine served was also nice. The pool is beautiful, our room was lovely and the view breathtaking. On top of all we got to know Charlie, Snoopy and Patti, Andrés cute dogs. They are small and super friendly, so no need to worry if you're not a dog lover (like we are). To sum things up: just brilliant.
