"This was a wonderful accommodation. My husband and I stayed here 3 nights. The views were incredible. Sadly it rained a lot so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful grounds. Star the manager could not be any nicer. Anything we wanted she was there to get it for us. Our rooms were cleaned daily and amazing snack drawer was filled. Refrigerator was filled with drinks and replenished daily. Breakfast was made to order and was delicious. Much better than standard continental breakfasts normally...

"A surprising find and well worth staying here in a quiet cul de sac. Not far from Tauranga central and other amenities. The owners were great and helped us navigate the area. Breakfast was more than ample, quite a feast."

"The hotel advertises a free airport shuttle, but they do not have one. I contacted them before arrival to arrange pickup, and they told me the shuttle does not exist. I had to pay for a taxi. When I asked the hotel to reimburse the taxi cost, they refused and told me to contact Expedia. This is misleading and caused unnecessary expense."

"Arrival & Atmosphere We arrived around 3 PM and check-in was smooth - there was one staff member at the front desk who was expecting us. However, the resort felt unusually quiet, almost empty. During our stay, most facilities appeared closed, including dining and the spa. It’s unclear whether these are only available in peak season. "Putaruru Hotel has been a convenient, easy and affordable stop for me on my travels between Wellington and Northland, close to the main road. It is good to see the property being renovated and upgraded. My room was basic, but newly refurbished, and very clean. The bed was comfortable. It worked well."
