"Stayed here a couple of times with family. Plunge pool rooms are perfect for quiet moments and private time. Aircon is fantastic and rooms are spotless. Hotel is rustic and a little dated but this adds to its charm and laid back feel. Fantastic location, on the beach. An easy stroll in to the brighter lights of Chaweng beach road and a nice, safe walk back to the hotel, along the beach with its many bars and clubs. Facilities and staff are great. Pools and areas are well staffed and clean. Not a shiny, polished 5star by any means but that’s not what Samui is about."

Villas are spacious, well designed and maintained with all the luxury one could imagine with infinity pools attached to each. The Thai restaurant offers a great menu and top service. Also recommend the gym with great sunset views. Friendly and helpful staff made the stay truly special."

"We had the loveliest stay at Explorar. The food, staff, beach, accommodations and building is incredible. The only feedback is to inquire guest preferences (smoking or non). We were given the only ocean front room with a partial balcony, and spent every single day out ok the balcony so that was unfortunate, but the kicker was that The smoking area was right below us. We are two very health conscious non-smokers, who religiously use the gym and take care of ourselves. It was too bad to have such a small balcony for people that used it and have to breath in heavy amounts of smoke almowt every use. Two unfortunate things that are very easily fixable imo. Just inquire to guests if they’re non-smoking and make sure their room is away from the designated smoking space. Otherwise absolutely amazing stay. Minn was incredible!"

Pocket Guide: Koh Samui Taling Ngam Hotels
Located on the south-western cape of Samui, Taling Ngam overlooks the beautiful islands of Anthong National Park. This spectacular bay and beach welcomes tourists who need a few days to escape, as very little exists at the beach, except for some stunning resorts and cheaper backpacker options. The area remains largely untouched, even though modern development is starting to encroach upon the hills of Taling Ngam.
Don’t MissTaling Ngam definitely caters for a relaxing holiday, although plenty of other nearby sites add extra charm.
Of course, the beach at Taling Ngam is simply spectacular. Tourists can enjoy swimming in the crystal blue water, or laze under the sun absorbing the rays. If visitors want to see something magical, they should stay on the beach until sundown, when a great light show illuminates the sky each evening.
There are several attractions waiting just outside the area. Kids and adults will adore Paradise Park Farm, which is home to a large range of barnyard and wild animals. Monkeys, hedgehogs, ponies and deer are among the most common animals here. Heaven’s Garden, a large statue garden in the nearby hinterland area, is also located close to the farm.
Restaurants and BarsMost of the restaurants and bars in Taling Ngam are located within the resorts and guests from outside are welcome. The bars and lounges generally have great views of beach and surrounding gulf, so visitors are certainly paying for the atmosphere too. Western cuisine and traditional Thai menus are common in Taling Ngam’s resort restaurants. However, there is a very famous local seafood restaurant, known as Five Island Seafood, that shouldn’t be missed.
ShoppingThere is not much to buy when staying in Taling Ngam. The nearest shopping destination is Nathon, which sits about 20 minutes north of the bay. Here, visitors are greeted by retail shops and souvenir stands.
