"I can highly recommend this hotel. The staff is wonderful. There is a free transfer from the train station by bus and we were able to get into our room an hour early. The sheets on the bed were pristine and the breakfast in the morning was outstanding. We were able to walk to the palace and university up the hill and down to the river."

Location is central at first it feels a bit grity8 but across street is a great b akery, a few feet away is a Farmacia, abit further ,very good self service laundry an 1 block away is the post office . "The hotel and grounds are beautiful and furnishings were suited to the era of when it was built. The breakfast was excellent and included with our stay. There is only one option for dinner and it was pricey. There is no wi-fi in the room, only the area near the bar. The TV in the room only has Portuguese channels. It would have been nice to have music playing in the bar/lounge."
