Character hotel built in 1933 with small rooms but lots of common areas (games room, library, pool room sitting rooms etc) Small issues with the plumbing but Enjoyed using the pool table which had all the required equipment and was in good condition. Breakfast buffet was quite adequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Central CBD location with easy walk to shops and restaurants. Car park was a big tight but the EV charger was excellent.

We had an excellent stay at the Métropole Hotel. The staff are absolutely lovely! The breakfast was very good. Everything was clean. We really liked the place. (The only slight downside was the room door opening against the bed, which prevented it from opening fully.)

Check-in was excellent. , very helpful . My fault we had a basic room which did not have any wardrobes or any hanging space apart from two hooks on the door. Lovely lounge and pool table room very atmospheric . On our first evening the hotel arrange for wine tasting which was fabulous . We found the car park was not 100% use a friendly due to the severe access slope and the tightness of the car park so all the time (three nights ) at least two parking brakes were unusable We were on a bed only basis, so cannot comment on the breakfast.

3rd or 4th time staying here, and we love it. Staff are lovely, room is basic but clean, and the location is fantastic. Lots of quirky little sitting rooms for guests to enjoy. We didn’t have breakfast as we were going out for lunch both days we were there - but it smelled beautiful! We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect location a few meters from the station. Still we didn’t have trouble with noise. Now renovated rooms. The rest of the building is a historic guesthouse with library etc. We enjoyed that. Charming. Value for money.

There was much more interest in the group that was staying there. The couple issues that I found unacceptable was locking the front door Sunday evening at 5pm when I was told that the door wasn’t locked until 7pm and my room wasn’t cleaned and garbage wasn’t emptied on Sunday. It appeared to me that the group was most important and the staff relaxed after their Sunday exit. If you’re a solo, don’t expect much effort.

The highlight was the lovely manager/host who was so welcoming, personal and kind. Hotel had lots to offer and bar was reasonable prices. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. I did need ear plugs for the trains which are common for katoomba
