This is quite a basic hotel. But it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The restaurant is really nice. And most importantly, it might be the best hotel for viewing the fjord. There's literally a viewing platform right outside the hotel's door.

Right along the road sits our historic building. There are limited rooms here so unless the occupancy is high, parking seem to be do-able. Good breakfast layout. evening dining is good with limited menu choices. Front desk staffs are all friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the 2 nights here.

This hotel is in an excellent location perched above the fjord and away from the cruise ship crowds. Our hotel room was amazing. We booked the king bed suite with the fjord view. It was hard to leave the room! We dined at the restaurant in the hotel and enjoyed an amazing meal that Chef Johnny prepared. Amazing experience overall!

This is an older hotel with history that has been sympathetically updated retaining a real sense of luxury. Lovely places both inside and out to enjoy the amazing views Staff couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful Tea and coffee in lounge a nice bonus Very good breakfast

Our stay at Hotell Utsikten was great. The staff is super attentive. The property is up a ways so the view is fantastic. Cozy lobby bar and excellent breakfast. Also, we walked right from the hotel to the Vesteras trails. If there are rooms available, this is the place I’d stay in Gerainger!

Great location, and beautiful location. Only complaint is that I had a nut allergy scare, as a certain item in the restaurant menu did not fully specify an item that had nuts. Just a heads up for those who have severe food allergies. The hotel was apologetic on the same, and did a courtesy waive of the costs. Very pricey room rates, which makes sense for where it's located. Otherwise, a decent experience.

Overall wonderful views with a lot of history. Booked non-smoking, but was given room on smoking floor (3rd floor). Very little parking, but staff assisted with finding a spot. Not disability friendly. Must take stairs to room and no elevator.
