My wife and I just spent 3 nights at Austria House and we couldn't be more pleased. The cabin was very comfortable, fully equipped with everything you need, just bring food. Eclectic and charming decor throughout. The hosts Angelica and Martin went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a relaxing one.
The apartment is cozy and functionally furnished. Carol welcomed us very warmly, making us feel right at home. The location is ideal for exploring the town on foot or by bike. Hyder and the Salmon Glacier are quickly accessible by car. Thank you very much!
Unique: Design, materials used in reconstruction of the cabin. Comfort: Very good, except for a musty odor in the cabin likely due to the wood floors and rainy/humid climate........... otherwise we were quite comfortable.
Photos do not do it justice. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again. My hat is off to the carpenter who built this place. You're going to see finish work that is unbelievable!
The building is a older historic hotel with lots of character room was clean and quiet there's a common area with fridge and coffee maker a very unique stay
The place was simple but nice! We had a room with a shared bathroom but it was right outside of our room! Free use of bikes. Would definitely stay there again!!!
Very accomodating and friendly host. Stayed in the cabin. Very old building was cute and comfortable. Would certainly consider it for a multi night stay.

Quaint cottage with antique Austrian furniture. Ok for one night. Would have preferred the house.
Shared bathroom, WiFi wasn't functioning, breakfast not furnished.

Do not recommend this stay. It was a fire waiting to happen. Electrical was a bunch of extension cords. It is an old shed. There was a shower in the the kitchenette. There was a table and chair that touched a pellet stove. Better than sleeping in a tent I suppose.
Its not a chalet. Its a shed. You walk into the bathroom first but the dark shower is in the kitchen! Very rustic and im not good at rustic. Others might just love it. For me it was scary from the start . Lots of plywood.

I booked 2 nights at House Austria. The owner contacted me through Expedia to say that the room I had chosen was not really available for both nights, but she had a queen that was en-suite. I said fine. When we arrived, she told us the reservation was not actually at the b&b and said Expedia had told me that. Well, not so. She had us booked at an historic hotel in “town” that she also owned. It was old and relatively decrepit, not unlike most places Stewart. Two, tall, steep staircases to the room. We had to schlepp are luggage up and use them all the time. It certainly was better located than House Austria, but not what we expected. We did get half of our money back.
