Positiv: schöner großer Balkon, ruhige Lage. Das Frühstück wird in einem nahegelegenen Bäckerei-Café eingenommen und war absolut top. Eine Riesen-Auswahl für jeden Geschmack, viel mehr, als man essen kann, und man konnte sich noch etwas für unterwegs mitnehmen (ideal für Wanderer und Radfahrer). Negativ: Das Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig. Mit wenig Aufwand könnte man z.B. mal die arg abgenutzten Handtücher erneuern. Leider haben wir erst vor Ort gemerkt, dass das Hotel kein Restaurant mehr hat (seit einigen Monaten geschlossen wg. Personalmangel). Im Ort gibt es fußläufig außer einem Döner- und Pizza-Imbiss sonst kein Restaurant.

Leider ist die Einrichtung des Zimmers völlig in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bett war kurz vorm zusammen brechen, die Wände sind schmutzig, die alten Teppiche sind schäbig.Das Bad ist uralt, die Dusch bzw. Badewanne ist total unpraktisch und das WC wackelt beim drauf sitzen. Für den Preis für die Übernachtung mit Frühstück (95€ Doppelz.) hätten wir uns etwas anderes vorgestellt. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir das wirklich gute Essen und das reichhaltige Frühstück. Wir sind freundlich und gut gelaunt bewirtschaftet worden. Trotz allem muss dringend renoviert und investiert werden.

Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar am Rennsteig und ist top auf Wanderer eingestellt. Der Empfang war herzlich und das gesamte Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mein Zimmer war - wenn auch schon älter - sehr gemütlich und hatte einen großen Balkon mit Sitzgruppe und Liegestuhl. Das Haus liegt direkt am Wald und das Restaurant serviert die leckeren Gerichte im urgemütlichen Garten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr abwechslungsreich und ich wurde jeden Morgen aufgefordert, mir auch noch genug mitzunehmen, um über den Tag zu kommen. Dazu lagen extra Beutel aus und ein Lunchpaket wurde nicht berechnet. Ich hatte einen rundherum schönen Aufenthalt im Hotel Rennsteig.

Gutes Restaurant, welchselnde Tageskarten, von üppigem Salat bis Steak alles dabei, preiswert, täglich geöffnet. Frühstück frisch von der Bäckerei. Freundliches Personal. Großer, kostenloser Parkplatz am Haus. WLAN im Zimmer. Einrichtung gemäß Baujahr 1977, Eigengeruch, Geräusche von Hausheizung und gegenüberliegendem Werk. Balkon zur Rückseite, lärmgeschützt. Direkt am Rennsteig, Unterkunft zur letzten Etappe gen Osten (28 km bis zum Ende).
