We loved the room. The huge bath in particular being a highlight! Would definitely recommend this stay to others.
We stayed here when visiting Beamish museum. It's hard to get much closer!
Beautiful setting, walked through the lavender bushes after a delicious Sunday roast. Room is amazing and the staff are so lovely. All made for a relaxing, overnight stay.
Fantastic stay, lovely food and wonderful staff. Perfect location for Beamish, rooms were very comfortable and well appointed.
The only down side really was that the room was hot and was unable to reduce the temperature.
Accommodation was excellent and staff were very helpful and attentive. Had dinner both nights we were there. First night - lovely meal, second night - terrible. Staff did offer compensation for meal.
We would definitely return to this hotel.
Check in staff was brilliant however the service staff in the restaurant were not as good in the evening. The breakfast staff excellent. The room and the grounds excellent.
Have just returned from a wonderful break at the Black Horse.
The surroundings are idyllic with lavender fields, apple and plum trees as well as all the beaitiful plants
Everywhere is immaculately maintained from the grounds to the restaurant and cottages.
The staff were so kind and helpful .
Would return in a heartbeat.
Stayed for one night and was the loveliest time!!! Room very spacious, warm, bed comfortable and staff were amazing throughout!! Food was excellent. Would definitely stay again!!!
Our stay at the Black Horse has been amazing. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The food was excellent, we had an evening meal in the pub. Our breakfast was very good.
The rosemary suite was ideal for 2 couples. Really spacious with super king beds and both en suite. Shower had great water pressure too!
All the staff were absolutely lovely, and couldnt be more helpful when i was struggling with bags and a baby!
It was a fantastic stay, the room was amazing. The staff were attentive, the grounds were lovely and the food was great. I would definitely recommend staying here and I'll definitely come back.
Absolutely gorgeous place with a great dinner and breakfast. MASSIVE room and bath (Oak room highly recommended) but take your own bubble bath! Really, really glad we had dinner and breakfast there because the food and service was insanely good. Check-in and out staff were extremely friendly and helpful too.
Beautiful, spacious and clean accommodation. All staff were very friendly from check-in, waiting staff, housekeeping staff, to grounds maintenance. Even the chef took the time to speak to us after breakfast. The outside area is perfect for young families - there’s a great, enclosed play park and lovely green spaces (with tractors to play on!) for young children to run about. Both the Sunday roast and breakfast were delicious. A brilliant location for exploring a beautiful area of the country.
We want to visit the beamish museum and it was a good location for this.
Weather was great so we were able to sit in the beer garden overlooking the hills
Lovely and comfortable accommodation set in thr countryside just outside Newcastle. Loved the snug bar area with roaring fire and great choice of beers. Food was great and good value. Rooms were large and comfortable with everything you would need for either a short break or a business trip. Take time to find this next time you are in the area.
